Do folks actually enjoy getting treated like zoo animals when they travel to Asian countries?

I see videos a lot and my biggest question has always been how they actually enjoy that shyt :wtf:

They gotta just be attention whores or something

Old men taking pictures of you just cause
Kids running up to you, trying to touch you
People on the street stopping to look at you point and talk and take pictures

In a restaurant and damn near 60% of the folks in there are staring at YOU.

How is that enjoyable? :dahell:

I can see going somewhere where they’ve never seen black people and people looking more than usual, whatever. But the shyt I’ve seen where whole streets and shops just come stare is wild as hell. I went to Vietnam and Cambodia and people would look, but nothing like when people go to rural China and the whole bus stops what they’re doing just to stare at you.

How is that enjoyable? :dahell: Could never be me, butI guess the attention deprived like being curiosities

Alot of homogeneous xenophobic countries and places act like this not just china...:dead: Some people have never even seen a globe much less left their own city... :snoop:

I have I just refuse to go to Asian countries cause I don’t like the vibe I get from the videos I see :yeshrug: Same with Egypt from what I’ve seen.

It’s like you gotta be cool with being a circus act to go there.

In college me and some classmates spent a summer in Eastern Europe and it wasn’t like that frfr. Some looks states of course but not like what I’ve seen going on in Asia

Depends where in Asia you go. If you go to China or South East Asian countries like (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos) or South Asian countries like (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan) then yeah, expect to be constantly stared at wherever you go.

But if you going to countries like Japan or South Korea then you're not really going to experience that as much, at least not in the major cities. It's 2023 not 2008.

living in America you are exposed to every race on earth and it's not a big deal
china has 1.2 billion people and most of them have never seen a foreigner, let alone a black person in real life
so when they see you, it's like a special moment in their life

or these wholesome moments with curious Chinese kids

Exactly.

I had people stroking my arms, stopping me in the street or stroking my locs and even giving me a new born baby to take a picture with in some parts of Vietnam

Didn’t really matter. They weren’t rude and were more inquisitive. I’d rather go there and experience thing than complain at home online :yeshrug:

Japan had people going out their way to make me feel comfortable as they knew I wasn’t local.
