Do online job apps even get screened?

It will hit the keywords and push you through.

I never thought of this...

I def know it's about keywords though.. even I admit when hiring before.. i put keywords and bam.

but I never thought of this... it's funny when you find a resume by using Boolean... then the resume has none of the words... so must be this shyt

Is there a way to do this for sites that don't let you upload your resume? The ones that just want you to list previous duties in their own letter box.

I got a job through an online app. Took me a month to hear back from them for an interview, and that was after they had already told me no, oddly enough.

Not doubting this, just curious if anyone has tried it

My wife and I filled out an application for Home Depot. I tried this and she didn't. After the personality stuff it took me to some other questionnaire about tools and stuff she didn't get the questionnaire. I'm filling out applications so I'll keep trying this.

Any other tips would be super helpful.

I actually got an interview and had it 2 Thursdays ago. Told me they were gonna do another week of interviews. I hope to hear back from them this week.

That's a good question. I'll ask my wife tomorrow. I own my own business, but after this thread, I decided to just start applying to jobs with this method for the fukk of it. I ran into this type of question at one company. I literally just wrote they wanted, then tabbed down a few lines and pasted in the job description in visible text.



We'll see what happens.

on a side note...i just started a gig at a security and backgrounds investigation company. I have to go through the whole background investigation/security check myself, but I'm wondering if I should have them sponsor me for a clearance, and just roll out to another company.

the struggle breh. I had three in two weeks with multinationals. The last one was the best interview I've ever had but I still dont think i'll get it even though I deserve to. its like theres always somebody better. Sometimes I have no choice but to blame being black

I did that before by taking a job I didn't want just so I could get a clearance. The once the clearance went final bounced. But if they find out your looking for something else they can cancel the clearance before it's finished.

I got a story that'll make you very sad...

A very close friend of mine, his dad has worked in HR for over 3 decades in very large companies in New York and other parts of the world. He's been in charge of hiring people on several occasions. Here are a couple of stories:

My friend's dad's boss gave him an order to hire a new assistant. He also provided him with a list of requirements. They were all physical requirements. Height, hair color, eye color, and bust size. He was told her education wasn't an issue.

My friend's dad brought home a giant stack of resumes for a job that probably paid 75K starting. He gave the stack to my friend who was probably 10 at the time and said, 'pick out some you like'. My friend responded with, 'what if I don't pick the best ones?' And his dad responded with, 'it doesn't really matter'.
