yo, this song is one of the greatest songs ever. I remember someone on the old sohh pointing out that in freeway's verse he kept playing with the words "up" and "down." We still hustle till the sun go up, crack a 40 when the sun go down. That just made the song even better because I usually catch those.
this and 50 cents "many men" are probably the few songs i still play atlas 5 times to this day.

I didn't like his voice when I first 1-900 hustler, but this shyt changed everything when it comes to freeway. all of a sudden, I liked his delivery and his voice didn't bother me anymore.

For sure, but I was the one that played off Drew Brees. Jay wasn't saying anything about Brees, like you said. Jay was just making a play on Louisiana bayous and was saying "We squeeze hammers man. Bullets breeze by you (bayou) like Louisiana man."
Unless I'm missing something he just meant that he'll shoot bullets and they'll breeze by you because you'll be getting shot at. By you sounds like bayou, so he just said Louisiana. I just took it as a clever little line.
Drew Brees ended up in in Louisiana way later, so I just figured since he was on my time that I'd reference on my favorite jay lines for my team and make it a triple entendre don't even ask me how.
