what? nobody said stop at the associates degree

No, the guy said to get the associates degree, Get a full time job with that degree and then work on completing the next 2 years at some college.

What employers are hiring an electrical engineer with an Associates degree?

Do most entry level engineering positions not require a Bachelor's degree?

That’s my current option for getting an Electrical Engineering degree online. That’s excluding financial help, grants and etc.

Depending on what school you go to and how you play it.

My old roommate and EE major, we went to A&T

he got an incredible network (he an frat dude so there is that) and he makes big paper

I always joke with him ”if I could go back, I wouldve been an engineer“

You have been conditioned to think every entry level EE job requires a 4 year degree. It seems to me that's your problem...stop projecting it on others.

If he is good at this stuff and kills it in the interview....he'll get the job.
He just needs to finish the extra 2 years...which would cost him less.

It's not a problem at all buddy, just go to Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn.

How many engineer grads do YOU personally know got jobs with an associates degree? :jbhmm: Most engineer students do all 4 years.

And since we on the subject, Engineer courses don't start until your junior year of college. Your Freshman and Sophomore year are just math and physic classes mixed with some English.

Yeah, most Engineering jobs require an ABET-accredited complete degree.

If for example a company has “Engineers” who don’t have a complete engineering degree from an ABET-accredited school and people die, they’re going to get sued to the ground.

ABET is the most important thing for an Engineer unless they graduated from a school like Caltech, M.I.T, etc.

There are no real traditional “engineering” jobs out there for someone halfway through a degree.

However, being in the middle of a degree program can open more doors.

You don't take actual engineering courses until your Junior year though.

I will let coli engineer grads correct me or tell me I'm right.

Stop making this assumptions. He can ask any community college handing out EE AS degree and they will debunk this. I won't even waste my time on it.
OP call your local community college for answers.
Follow my hack and you will get your 4 year EE degree under 20K

One of my friends worked in banking and went back to school to get his Electrical Engineering degree at 36.

I'm not making assumptions. Look up EE jobs on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed. All of them require Bachelor's degrees.

In 2 years you are NOT learning any type of engineer design.

Find a company with a decent tuition reimbursement plan. But there aren't many of them left.

TYRONE GA!
What engineering job are you getting with that? Entry level engineer roles require a bachelor's degree.
this.

especially with how competitive shyt is today.

I wouldn't do that debt for an online university degree. And yes a state school would be cheaper. That's not bad for an out of state school or private university though, but the school better have engineering credibility.

I mean this is the nicest way possible. It would be a mistake for "you" to go into debt for a degree. Based on your posts here, you would most likely accrue that much debt and not have a degree to show for it. You sound like someone who would be better off pursuing a trade.

I told him he should look into being an Electrician.

Or he can go the Electrical Engineer 'tech' route. Graduate in 2 years, less debt, more hands on, less math intensive, and a salary ceiling of $100k.

Most freshman and sophomore classes were the same across all majors when i was in college.
Basic education courses, Literature, Algebra, stuff like that. We got into real accounting when i was a junior. thought it was the same for everybody.
you don't have to select a major until after your 3rd semester i thought.
