I miss the act of going to a video store browsing for movies and games. When I was a kid every Friday my pop would take me to rent something from Blockbuster or Movie Gallery. Those were the days man...I remember the 1st time we rented a sony playstation back in like 1997. I'll never forget how amazing that experience was.

Let's be real, y'all know damn well y'all wouldn't be going to Blockbuster even if they were still around :mjlol:

Most of y'all are letting nostalgia cloud your perspective. The reason they were killed off so quickly is because people were tired of their BS with late fees, price gouging, and lack of inventory. There wasn't a worse feeling than seeing a movie on the counter and realizing you forgot to take it back, because you knew they were about to rape your pockets.

Was just thinking about how as a kid who grew up in the 90s, I now have literally the entire Blockbuster store from any given year back then in my pocket 24/7. I'm talking about a place I looked forward to hitting EVERY weekend, is now just there, on me, wherever I go.

That shyt kinda fukked me up for a minute.
If you're referring to netflix their movie selection is ass.

VUDU would be a more apt comparison

everyone uses netflix now a days....but remember blockbuster......i miss that shyt sometimes
At the very end Blockbuster was better than Netflix. Their Total Access program was the shyt. I had one around the corner and you could take the mail in movies into the store and swap them. You could get games too for a few bucks more a month. I mean now you just can stream or download but back then it was amazing. Every Tuesday I'd go pick up the new releases in the morning from their store and swap out my mailed in movies.

I still can't believe Blockbuster passed on buying Netflix for $150 million and now it's worth billions. I would have bought them out if for nothing else to stifle their innovations or roll their mail in service into Total Access.

I remember back in the day going to rent games and looking at the back of the boxes and struggling to pick which game I wanted. It's a whole chapter of life that kids today will never know.

Ugh. Blockbuster was legit in the 90s. I remember that rental store being so first class compared to raunchy dusty ass West Coast Video. I rented Grand Theft Auto and Rouge Trip from Blockbuster, twas awesome:wow:. Once the novelty wore off, it became outdated as the late fees were a joke, prices were lolz, and it just wasn't appealing anymore compared to Netflix and even....sigh....Gamefly:scust:. Bottom line, I didn't cry when they declared bankruptcy. I was sad for the workers but adapt or perish:ld:.
