He sonned them, I thought Canibus won back in the day, only because Canibus looked was like Tyson in 87 nobody could believe he could go down especially by LL Cool J who everyone wrote has being soft, and he came through and crushed him.

LL Cool J was very strategic

1. He picked a way better bet than Canibus, 2nd round KO beat is wack, it don't like shyt, when LL Song come on it sound like a divine being is coming down from the heavens to bestow his wrath, the beat sounded like war beat, and of course LL 100 percent aggression the whole song.

Lyrical, the shyt was kinda wack, he had good lines, like that book one, and Tell Wyclef don't even turn the fukking mic on

but that chuckle like a name buckle, he said corney shyt like that, the song was too long, but back then they stuck to a format to a fault.

2. LL responded to all Canibus' disses, every single diss Canibus had for LL he had a response for, it was brilliant, because it completely nullified Canibus' song

Diss my moms?, who's the real right don, who reign for 18 years and dropped bombs, LL, when you drop versuses at nikkaz proms"

3. He waited a while to respond, he didn't respond right away. Today, he wouldn't be able to get away with that, and would've probably lost the battle because 2nd round KO had such hype, LL responded right way wouldn't be enough to take on that hype, he waited for the hype to die down and the track to get old, which was a great move, because know he had all the momentum, and energy from Canibus' track had died down.

I think canibus could have went harder but the first album sealed his fate. The second album should have been his first album and maybe it would've went differently. His decision to roll with wyclef or trust clef with production was the worse decision of his career.

LL won because Canibus dropped a dud with his first album. Then LL dropped a dope album with ThE GOAT and The track “ Back Where I belong” pretty much put the nail in the coffin for Canibus’s mainstream career.

Anybody saying LL won either wasn't there...or just ran with that bullshyt because Hot 97 and Def Jam tried their best to convince you that LL's response was up to par, lol, which was laughable. Canibus smoked this man's boots and it wasn't even close...and I love L, pause.
How you win the battle when after the diss tracks your career never takes off and you disappear? :mjtf:

Canibus, I never bought the hype. He did kill some verses like Beasts From The East & Fantastic 4 but once he decided to go at LL I lost respect for him and knew he was feeling himself too much. Then he drops that wack ass album with the corny ass album cover. WTF was that bullshyt :mjlol:

Dude shoulda had features on his debut album cats like Pun and other lyrical dudes of his time. He didn’t get any beats from real producers like Preemo, Pete Rock, Alchemist, etc. That album was so bad people immediately didn’t take him seriously. Def didn’t win a damn thing :hhh:

How you figure he "decided" to go at LL? LL went at him first, changing his original verse to diss Bus on the song and then putting it out (kind of a bytch move), then Bus responded.

Nah. It’s legit LL was offended. LL is just an overly ultra competitive person, like a rap version of Michael Jordan. Watch in his interviews when anybody even makes it SEEM like they could be slighting him or his work and LL low key loses it, even when he’s clearly trying to uphold his image for the cameras.
Not seeing that as "legit". You a rap king since the 80's. And a new niqqa saying let me borrow that mic off your arm puts you in your feelings THAT much? You say legit, I say WAY overly sensitive.

Of course it’s overly sensitive but that’s how ultra competitive people are. You don’t just turn that off. Everything is offensive to them but that’s also what drives certain people to greatness.

LL didn't "beat" Canibus. Canibus beat Canibus by dropping a weak ass debut album.

Had his album not been so wack it could've still went either way. As it stands LL had a good response and then Canibus fumbled everything in his career after that, making it damn near impossible to even the score again.

The N.O
Even merked Iron Mike “Heard that convicted rapist on the record, too (uh-huh)
Fresh out of jail, asscheeks still black and blue (uh-huh! ooooh!)
Tell me 'bout the things Ear-Biter taught you
How to bust a nut or two? (Yeah, that's butter, boo)” :mjlol::russ:
I always thought and was ready for Mike to pull up on LL

So Mike Tyson was just supposed to throw his life away just so he could run up on LL and catch charges over a line in a rap record. Mike probably laughed at that line and kept it moving.
Catch charges for what? They could've easily met somewhere and handled it. Plus LL pressing charges on Mike destroys his(LL) career. All that tough talk and you press charges like a bytch, he never lives that down

When you look back it does seem odd that LL took such offense to that line. It is what it is tho & Canibus career was over shortly thereafter :francis:
