Before the lottery my fear was in today’s perimeter based game they’d turn Wemby into JJJ. Like I could legit see him go to the hornets and Terry rozier is taking more shots

But going to San Antonio? An old school coach who had he 2 all-time centers and also when he traded Derozan said nah I don’t want Siakim or OG, give me Jakob Poetl. Yea, he’ll be fine.

I think career arch wise Yao Ming with elite defense is a good comp.

Also think of how people look at Dwight howard. Dude barely averaged 20 in his prime but had elite defense. People look back on him like he was fuking Wilt. Wemby can have a Dwight Howard type career at worst

I’m thinking his ceiling is Kevin Garnett. Which is an all time great and hall of famer.

And thats IF he can stay healthy and he eventually gains some muscle.

Usually players over 7 foot 1 end up having major foot/leg problems so we’ll see how he tracts.

I don’t think he’ll touch GOAT status like Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem, or Lebron

He's marketable tho. Just like Kareem he is a big who also has other interests besides basketball. His first game will be heavily watched.Hes not going to be Wilt and drop crazy stats. He wont win a shytload of championships like Russell. Hes going to have bumps and bruises he will struggle somehow. He doesnt seem like he cares about awards etc. I think he legit wants to win. No matter what he does everyone wont be satisfied he might as well just play the best he can.

They setting this kid up for failure man

:russ:

:mjlol:.

I get the KD portion of that because Durant has incredible length at 7', but still isn't a good rim protector, so that makes sense defensively speaking.

Hakeem though:dahell:?!!?

Hakeem is literally a top 10 player in NBA history, so how the fukk would that be a disappointment:skip:?

Him becoming AD would be a disappointment because Davis is stunningly inconsistent despite being 10 years deep into the league. I'd be livid if my 7'5 center / forward is dropping 8/12/5 games in the playoffs against middling competition in a loss.

Idk I see alot of euros coming in and dominating the league.

I don't think international ball is a hindrance
