Yes :dahell:

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

My ancestors are owed a great debt

I am not African-American because Jesse Jackson said so ... Charlize Theron is

I'm born here, I'm owed from here and this is why we demand our rights

White people are the ones that twist that into blind patriotism

Am I patriotic? :camby: I pay taxes, that's enough.

Lets see.....

Africans arrived in Jamestown, VA in 1619. The Mayflower (Pilgrims) arrived in Plymouth, MA in 1620.

The entire southern economy flourished because of the labor of slaves.

AA slaves were the foundations of American capitalism.

Washington DC was designed by Benjamin Banneker. Slaves built the White House.

Wall Street was originally the site of a free black settlement. Before that, I believe it was the site of a slave auction.

Many of us have Native American ancestry, which gives us blood ties to this land before Europeans.

The only music and cuisine that is native to this country had sprung from black people.

The American Evangelical Christian movement has its roots in the way the slaves worshiped and interpreted the bible.

Our top educational institutions (Harvard, UVA, Georgetown) were funded by slave labor or the sale of slaves.

So..

Built this land + have blood ties to this land + defined the culture of this land = blacks being more American than anyone else.

Look at the bolded words. The square root of everything this country is known for is black.

And the deception of white folks is to make us feel as if we're anything other. And we fall for it...

Yes a large chunk of american culture is started and originated by us.

And if we keep it a buck American can be use to describe people from North,South, & Central America but we usually use it to refer to people of the US.

And I thought you said you don't get into discussing labels JJG? Lol you just say whatever comes to your mind huh breh.

OP you a good dude but what's with all these race related topics???

Did you have a nikka wake up call recently???
Um, because it's the focal point of this country. Also, I never had an N-word wake up call. I've been reading more books lately on history and the US's involvement in the overthrow of other leaders. I'm currently researching Aldo Moro.

I'm dead serious. Since the past year or so after the election of DT I just consider myself a Black man in the USA. Meaning, I feel more connected to my Blackness and African people more so than the USA. I just acknowledge that I was born here, but won't ever be considered a real American. Hell, my own people don't even get treated like Americans. They call us terrorists and shyt (Assata Shakur).
no.

If the question is what does one consider themselves I cant hep but to think of how we are in an era where if a man cuts off his weewee and takes estrogen and gets a boob job and "considers" himself a woman we are supposed to acknowledge him as a woman. But no mattee what he "considers " himself he's still a man. So one can consider themselves to not be American all they want but if u were born and raised here....Guess what..U American. Why? Because you have American ways. You might have been born in the ghetto of America...U still American. You are a Black American. And that something to be proud of because the Black American is unique. Thats why Black American culture is admired all over the world.
Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge that we have contributed a lot to this country. However, I feel more like a Black Gypsy that's just here than an American. I've cared more about Africana causes than American causes :yeshrug:

No. I am a descendant of prisoners of war who were sold into captivity and held in bondage in a foreign land. I am a New Afrikan, not an American. My nation is still held in bondage by the descendants of our enslavers.
I'm currently at this viewpoint myself. Which means I hold this view.

I'd have to.

Other than me being a black male from Ohio, no clue on my background in-depth

:francis:
Get that AncestryDNA/Mtdna done, so you can find out what African tribes you descend from. Even though I did mines last year I'm still trying to find out my history.
