Breh, I know it's been stated plenty times, but I been locked up for four years of my life, just came home last year. I'm from the hood. Not the bad part of the suburbs, but the bottom of the BOTTOM. My nikka....dwelling on life after I discovered that quote opened up more for me than any religious or afterlife talk ever could. I was never a fearful dude, and even tho I was waldin, it took that quote for me to realize I wasn't seeking the most out of life, and in my experiences, (which are vast & more than most) I STILL hadn't taken advantage of all life has to offer.

fukk wit me on this tho...I'm going skydiving this year. I'm going deep sea diving this year. I'm buying a motorcycle, I'm expanding my horizons and fukking wit bytches I prolly never would've even considered before (I don't mean ugly), just for the EXPERIENCE of it. I'm currently a small business owner and I'm looking into getting more involved with stocks and bonds, and then moving into securing venture capital for the sole purpose of BECOMING a venture capitalist. Life is too real to be fukkin scared of dying, breh. Straight like that.

:salute:

really the only limits people have are the ones they place on their selves... picture me letting somebody else tell me what i can and can't accomplish, and I'm definitely not going to be negative toward myself. I've set out to do things I didn't think I was capable of and when I did it I just realized I can do more things I may have thought I couldn't have. Makes me wonder what else I could do :ohhh: I don't think a lot of people realize their true potential :manny:

Im scared of dying like Im scared of having to take a shyt.

It's gonna happen. Why worry about it?

I could've died on the way to work. Or robbed while Im here and killed for chump change. This girl's husband might snap and come put holes in me. Might die on the way home. Might die in my sleep tomorrow.

I might die typing this.

I might be dead already.

Who knows? Who cares?

Death will be just like life before you were born. Maybe we'll be reincarnated but who knows.

I don't get why people say that like that makes things ok

Before life you hadn't experienced anything, now that you have, it's different.

AV be speaking from the standpoint of someone who's had ample time to do nothing but sit and reflect on life, the universe and everything.

That time is forced on some, and not everyone that has it uses it properly. It breaks a lot more.

You can't do nothing but salute this nikka. :salute:

How is time measured if you're dead? What is forever? It's not like you notice it, there's got to be more to death

One of my exes had sickle cell and she was always in the hospital and such, scared of dying.

I used to always tell her that if death and heaven is what she thought it was, then time stands still there. If time stands still, then everybody she cared about would already be there waiting on her.

Or maybe our human mind which constantly seeks meaning and understanding in things beyond our current comprehension, and doesn't want to believe in 'coincidences' or most of reality for that matter...can't just deal with the fact that there may NOT be more to death. Thus...religion is born. Your statement is born.

:whoo:

& yea, dont get me wrong yall.. Sometimes I feel like the idea of heaven & the afterlife are just a coping mechanism for dealing with death

I want there to be an afterlife, but if I live a long & eventful life, maybe ill want to just stop living. Idk I'm barely 19 so

I tip my hat to you breh, you made it out of a tough situation - shyt 4 years is more than tough :skip: but the most important thing is you realized just what you want to get out of life and are actively taking steps to achieve that :salute:

Two quotes that personally resonate with me are simply "life's what you make it", and "everything that happens is from now on". Taught me to always look forward and try and take positive steps for the future.

Some days, I'm on the fence about the reincarnation thing, other days, I believe it. They say when you have strong, strong memories or feelings about something that you know you never experienced before that its your past life. Also, if you have a deep fear about something (you scared of drowning or getting shot) that's supposedly how you "went out" before :ld: I dont fault people who dont believe it because it does sound crazy.

Like a couple of months ago, I kept dreaming about this school. I was never there before, the halls were tight as fukk, small like those Colonial style houses our schools used to make us go on field trips to go see as kids. I was walking into a class and this teacher was giving a lesson and all the kids were wearing clothes from like the late 1800s or some shyt. Looked like something off the Crucible and I never seen the Crucible :wow: I put it aside as nothing. Then I had the same dream two extra times :merchant:
