Sometimes I feel afraid to die but then I realize that I'm more afraid of possibly being forgotten about by my friends and family. Yea we wear tshirts with faces and attend funerals and shout out the deceased but after a while we shout them out less or think bout them less n less and of course life must go on but that's the scary part to me...... I always tell my nikkas to sing about me if it ever came to pass.

Um.. I am more scared of "how" I will die vs just dieing. I know it is inevitable and I welcome it whenever it is my time, I just don't want it to be painful or tragic.

Breh, I know it's been stated plenty times, but I been locked up for four years of my life, just came home last year. I'm from the hood. Not the bad part of the suburbs, but the bottom of the BOTTOM. My nikka....dwelling on life after I discovered that quote opened up more for me than any religious or afterlife talk ever could. I was never a fearful dude, and even tho I was waldin, it took that quote for me to realize I wasn't seeking the most out of life, and in my experiences, (which are vast & more than most) I STILL hadn't taken advantage of all life has to offer.

fukk wit me on this tho...I'm going skydiving this year. I'm going deep sea diving this year. I'm buying a motorcycle, I'm expanding my horizons and fukking wit bytches I prolly never would've even considered before (I don't mean ugly), just for the EXPERIENCE of it. I'm currently a small business owner and I'm looking into getting more involved with stocks and bonds, and then moving into securing venture capital for the sole purpose of BECOMING a venture capitalist. Life is too real to be fukkin scared of dying, breh. Straight like that.

Anyway I'm not sure I really understand when y'all saying "I'm not afraid of death, but I'm scared of the fact of dying/what happens or doesn't after/not having done this or that before/my closed ones suffering/etc..."all of that is exactly what Death is.

I guess I'll be the fearful one and say that yes, I am afraid of Death. I've lost a very close cousin, mother, grand-mother and just lost my best friend two weeks ago, and I saw that fear in the eyes of my mother and my best friend. Not knowing where you're going, hurting (how many really just die in their sleep...), knowing that you'll never say all those things you wanted to say to your loved ones, knowing you'll never do all those things you dreamt of doing...that's Death. So yeah, it does make me try to appreciate life, of course, but that's not because I don't fear Death, it's precisely BECAUSE I fear it and know that all can be over in a heartbeat. :to:

I don't think pain would be my concern if I'm about to die. The fact that I'm about to be gone for freaking eternity might out weight any pain I am in. If you ever ask an older person if they would want to live forever, they will most likely always say no and tell you they are ready to check out soon. That's the reason I'm not afraid to die anymore. Just knowing how hard life is and the stuff we go through, I wouldn't want to be here forever. Whether I'm eternally sleep or in the afterlife, I know this living shyt will get old one day.

One of my exes had sickle cell and she was always in the hospital and such, scared of dying.

I used to always tell her that if death and heaven is what she thought it was, then time stands still there. If time stands still, then everybody she cared about would already be there waiting on her.

Well, you think this might have been an inconsiderate statement considering it looks like it is going to take a very painful death to get there? :jbhmm:

I’m not afraid to die but, right now, I’m afraid to live
-MF Grimm

Death is something that is certain, but living in the midst of failure is something that scares me the most.

My biggest fear is dying without nothing to show for it. No business, no foundation to give to the next, and just being a broken soul without no redemption.

I want to be on my death bed and tell the nurse changing my bed pan that I lived...

That's all that matters.
