Only thing I hate about Wale is "Bad", other than that I don't see why people give him so much hate.

I'm still shocked Rick Ross gave Wale a sign, I just feel Wale dosen't fit with everyone else on MMG.

Lol no bullshyt outoftowners just dont understand the complex crab in barrell mentality nikkas have out here.......idc if he was some super relatable gangsta trap rapper nikkas would have found something to hate or use against the man....I agree though nikkas in the area just weren't ready for a cat to shine with his style and persona..with that said his support has definitely grown a lot since he first came on the scene, mostly cause of consistency, his effort to put on local cats and overall surrounding himself with the right people...

DMV cats gotta learn that the "corny" personal will make him have a long lasting career.

The Wale hate exposes the true crabs-in-a-barrel within people. Yeah, sometimes his personality is corny, but this shows that people like image more than the music itself. DMXV heads, even now, like that old hood shyt that is outdated and played out, but Wale reflects Gen. Y to a science: the talented, non-stagnant minded black person that is making their mark.

nikka shut the fck up

Talm bout some "Cuz I dnt like wale im a crab in a barrel"

We gon get something straight real fukkin quick

Image matters period

It had been that way in hip hop since the fukkin beginning

Ur music reflects an image that the people can get behind

Wdf u think MCin is..

U stand in front of a crowd and as an artist ur goal is to make sure people leave with an image of u being "That nikka"

U can talk all that cracka hipster talk but real nikkaz know image matters in this sht and it always has

So I dnt like the nikka and i see him as a bytch ass nikka cornball ass nikka..so when I listen to his music that image reflects in his music so im turned away by it

Plus that nikka look like a cornball

Call it what u want..it is what it is nikka:stopitslime:

LOL @ this. You think that the "hard" prison bound image is real Hip Hop, right? :heh: Glad that the dumb ass hard headed shyt of the late 80s to mid 00s died out. Hip Hop was created to get out of negativity in the hood, not to embrace it. Plus you sound like the type that bootleg your favorite "gangsta/ trap" rapper and complain why it never sells or get exposure that it deserves. Cut that hard headed shyt out, Wale's music is dope and it is getting its proper due. Complain all you want, but when you don't support shyt 100% of what you like, shyt like this happens.

Wale is wack :manny:

nikkaz needa stop puttin nikkaz like Cole and Wale in the conversation of real talent like Drake and Kdot

As far as the image talk..its funny..u insinuate me bringing up the significance of image as me speakin of only the "hardbody" image

Nah..

Image always matters

When u make music u are lookin to portray an image with ur art

For example...some like the underdog image so music, combined with look and other factors are used by an artist to create that image for the intended artist

Thats why many times..initial fans turn their backs on artist when they blow up

Im not using the term image in the way ur thinkin breh breh

Image matters..and no matter how much u wanna yap about u not being affected by image..ur lying to urself breh

It was a surprise but after listening to these albums on MMG it was a great idea. Wale has a lot of talent and his beat selection game is top notch. He flows great his lines are acceptable and hes got charisma on the mic. I dont understand the hate. Only dude from DC repping hiphop in the industry and i like his take on it. Keep makin albums like this. Ross Definately saved his career, and for the better.

nikka this shyt is a internet trend

im can bet everything i got that he sells out shows in dc/dmv

yall just follow the trend and thats wack as fukk

cause wale is nice as fukk

I live in DC. That shyt is overblown. When he first came out, he caught hate for being arrogant and for being a Largo nikka fronting like he from Uptown. Also, Gogo is king here. Not rap. If nikkas in DC listen to rap, it's southern street shyt like Gucci, Waka, etc. Not that lyrical poetic shyt Wale be on. That's why Fat Trel from here but rap like he from New Orleans or some shyt...

With all that said...the Wale hate is overblown. He didn't get hate in DC anymore than any other rapper gets hate when they're tryna come up....then after they blow, nikkas be on they nuts. I saw Wale live at Yardfest two years back....didn't see none of this hate :mjpls: 2,000 DC nikkas was rocking to him just fine :mjpls:

lol honestly being from the area, the Wale hate is just cos he was arrogant at times. My only take right now is guys like Fat Trel (supposedly not from DC either) how they gon come in the game cos his the only street rapper on the scene right now w/ some level of gangsterism around him unlike Young Moe lol. Like can Trel make a cohesive mixtape, yet alone an album is still up in the air right now imo. My only beef w/ DMV rappers right now is that they are still tryna sell an image, but thats cos most DMV rappers are funded by street nikkas. So you get a guy like Phil Ade who's sharp w/ the pen but still has to bring out the fact he has OG's behind him.

If anything Wale coming out the way he did gave chance to corny dudes like Logic to get some level of shine (then again he was signed to a deal for 2yrs falsifying the fake underground image, so yeah those views were bought lol). :shaq:
