Do you have to tell your co-workers that you have resigned?

My last job i put in my 2 weeks notice, told folks who i supported on a daily basis that I would be gone after "X" day. I didnt make a big deal about it.

The uninformed folks calling my cell months after that asking if i left for the day because they want some help :heh:

That still doesn’t tell me why I should care about them if I’m leaving :deadmanny:

Other than HR or whoever you put your resignation in with, nobody else matters :heh:

I can't tell you why you feel the way you do or how to feel dog

If I was leaving a job I'd just let people know to not leave people scrambling or passive aggressively burn a bridge

In my case, no one would be scrambling. I'll finish my campaigns and projects before I hit the exit. I just don't care for them.

This hasn't happened yet for me, but when people leave my firm, they send out a mass email letting everyone know they're moving on. At most, I would tell my superiors for obvious reasons, but other than that I personally have no interest in telling the people I work with.

If it were up to me I'd slip off into the night and let people know that I left when they see my desk empty. Is this poor etiquette? I don't give a fukk about my coworkers and I'm sure the feeling is mutual among many.
No

People's ego thinks other people care.

Now unless you've been there for a seriously long time and you have mad connections, yes then of course it would be really odd to just bounce.

But as you've seen people who've been there 1-2 years send a long e-mail about how they're leaving - it is as self-centered as it looks. It's the work version of a long Facebook post about yourself where you name other people, so people look at you in a good light when it's all about you really.

That's my opinion at least

I'm currently in this situation. I got a new job starting jul 23rd and I'm keeping my mouth shut until like beginning of July. They don't need to know what I got going on just yet.
Damn my dude, you change jobs more than hoes change clothes :skip:
