Do you know someone who had a failed "Move to a Big City" experience?

Like a friend who everytime you talk to them, they wanna move to NYC, LA, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Bay Area, etc etc

And ended up failing and had to go back home or move somewhere else?

Had a friend just like that :dead:

She was from Boston, and wanted to move to NYC so badly just so she can "Follow her music dreams and hear the subway train when she fell asleep"

Ended up moving to NYC, had to live with 12 roommates, all men, working 2 full time retail jobs, and never got into the music industry :martin::pachaha:

Yep. Low key dealt with a chick like that. Moved to ATL from VA. Didn’t do so well dating. Ended up getting pregnant by a FWB and moved back to VA.

Sound like some hating biter shyt going on deep in your heart. Hopefully this thread makes you feel better about being 35+ still cleaning toilets

That is some hell of a reach :laff:

I told her bunch of times to not move, her family told her 10x more than me. I told her she lives in Boston, that is a good enough city to make connections. She didn't want to listen :manny:

all of them.

I've moved around alot in my life and one thing thats consistent with everyone i meet. Is they all think the grass is greener somewhere else.
I can go to some podunk town in middle of nowhere and people will talk about how much it sucks there and how they wish they could move to a big city like new york. Go to new york and they'll say the same shyt and wish they could move to a small tropical beach town somewhere where it isn't as cold or crowded, go to a beach town somewhere and they'll say they hate living there and they hate the humidty and bugs etc, and wish they could move somewhere dry, go some somewhere dry, and they'll wish for water. etc etc etc.

My advice is always, just get out and travel whenever a feel a need to get away, but when you get home try to appreciate your life more. it's not as bad as you think. you're just bored of the same ol same ol, thats all

:francis: I think about it on certain days. Especially when gas in LA is pushing $8

You could move to 2nd tier or 3rd tier cities in the Midwest

Low cost of living and plenty of Job opportunities. That's what I did

Yea, a failed Atlanta try. She ended up moving to NYC instead of back to her hometown though so maybe her gripes with Atlanta were legitimate and not just her shortcomings

Lowkey if you catch Uber in places like Atlanta, Vegas, LA, NYC you have a good chance of getting a driver that's currently failing their big city experiment
Can have some interesting conversations. Had a breh driver in Vegas once that had me :mjcry: listening to the bad decisions he was making in real time, dude was like 40+ tho so I minded my biz

good for them.....at least they tried and chased their dreams an aspirations ....i have more respect for those that at least tried to leave their home town and failed than those who stayed and never had the courage to try
People that hate on others trying to chase their dreams are the ones that live in the same place their whole lives and never get to see the world. Nobody succeeds at everything. Failures happen. It all depends on how they handle it. At least they tried. That's nothing to laugh at or make them feel shamed for doing
