Do you know someone who had a failed "Move to a Big City" experience?

Depending in your skill/job level, moving to a Tier 2 or 3 Midwest city would be a great option. No place is perfect lol

Do you have job training/ education to command a decent salary?
I'm in school right now and set to graduate with a public relations degree by May '23. The starting salary for an entry level tend to be in the ballpark of 45k a year

Public relations meaning you want to be a Journalist, or work in Politics under a Senator/Mayor?

My Coli persona is McDonald's Frycook, and I'll like to keep it that way lol

But of you looking for relocation, I could give you pointers depending on your job training/education

What could you really know about except being a fry cook, and what are the 2nd and 3rd tier cities in the Midwest

So I guess we're gonna pretend following your dream shouldn't have practically attached to it?

Y'all are ok with people pursuing something without a plan?

Nowhere in the OP did I say she shouldn't follow her dream

So then why do you care?

However she did whatever she did, why do you take pride in her failure? Plan or no plan, whether she became president and ceo of a Fortune 500 or became a prostitute on Figueroa, why do you care?

Yea, a failed Atlanta try. She ended up moving to NYC instead of back to her hometown though so maybe her gripes with Atlanta were legitimate and not just her shortcomings

Lowkey if you catch Uber in places like Atlanta, Vegas, LA, NYC you have a good chance of getting a driver that's currently failing their big city experiment
Can have some interesting conversations. Had a breh driver in Vegas once that had me :mjcry: listening to the bad decisions he was making in real time, dude was like 40+ tho so I minded my biz
Most Uber drivers in nyc are immigrants from Pakistan

I’m originally from nyc but live in miami now. Had a friend that wanted to go to nyc from miami.

I told them how expensive it’d be and not to discourage just put in perspective.

Long story short. Even though they ended up getting a job making significantly more up there. The cost of living and lifestyle wasn’t worth it. It was a good experience for them though
No they were just bad with money. You should have gave them a financial counseling session instead of trying to interrupt their goals

I have a degree in PR as well, stay in contact with your classmates who practice PR and it will help you a great deal.

My Aunt moved to Atlanta with her husband and two two kids and :

Got into pills and club in in her mid thirties
Started cheating on her husband with a woman
Divorced husband
Became a alcoholic
Racked up multiple dui’s. License is revoked
Moved back to Pittsburgh broke, divorced, in debt, no license, and overall defeated

Everytime I see her she looks washed beyond belief and just downtrodden :mjcry:

I was hoping there would eventually be a happy ending to this story :mjcry:
