I'm too busy to care about what other people are doing.

But, when I see them and chop it up with them, I'll be supportive of whatever they trying to accomplish. But naw nikka I aint coming to your shows.

:russ: this is the SAME FACIAL EXPRESSION i make everytime im at work and some 30 something year old temporary worker approaches me because he "heard i use to work in the music industry" and he got some "fiyah" that he wants me to check out and give my input on....
:beli:

it's also the same FACIAL EXPRESSION i make everytime im just out with my kid passing thru the mall to get some items and i get approached by some 30 something year old guy and his "clique" passing a CD to me and asking me to SUPPORT LOCAL HIP HOP with a donation of some sort

i've just made this FACIAL EXPRESSION recently with my ex over the phone who wants me to ASSIST her 31 year old cousin with an upcoming Mixtape release party in ATL .....

she got upset and called me an AZZHOLE and a HATER...when all i was doing was trying to be HONEST :manny:

her cousin unfortunatly like alot of these guys are simply people whom can't stand the thought of being a "REGULAR" and just working a 9 to 5 or having a non celebrity CAREER....

They see ENTERTAINMENT as the ends to all means...and it just simply is WRONG...

BACK IN MY DAY..it was only a select few that was WORTHY OF BEING CONSIDERED TALENTED ENOUGH FOR SHOW BUSINESS

now SOUNDCLOUD and YOUTUBE got every gottdamn underachieving trapper and fruity looped produced mumble rapper thinking THEY CAN DO THIS RAP SHYT...

and it's pathetic and explains why we have @2manyFCKNrappers

pun intended :lolbron:

but i guess cause the BAR HAS BEEN LOWERED SO MUCH ....they don't have ARTISTS or ALBUMS to let them know...

hey ......MAYBE I SHOULD RETHINK MY OPTIONS :patrice:

just like when i was just turning 21 as an aspiring rapper/producer and i first heard ILLMATIC by NASTY NAS.and a few other GREAT LPs and ARTISTS of 1994...........

right then and there...i got the MESSAGE LOUD AND CLEAR...that i need to stay my azz in college and find another career path

mrw-when-posts-in-this-sub-reference-being-in-school-andor-living-with-parents-104787.gif

it was the BEST DECISION i made as a young adolescent

insted of wasting my time trying to ROC THE MIC.....i simply developed my skill set in other fields i.e (engineering..drafting..logistics..transportation) along with pursuing my passion for music in a different route by keeping a SIDE HUSTLE as a Promoter/Radio show/ Hip Hop journalist...

"SOME" of these GROWN UP cats need a WAKEUP CALL

Word....I used to rap from 12 to about 20....I hung it up, gave all my recording equipment to the pawn shop and went to college late, graduated in my mid 20s and kept it moving.

I have to come home to see my mom and sometimes she shames me into going around the old neighborhood and I bump into my old rap buddies from time to time. Them nikkas still rapping. We all between the ages of 28 and 32 now. Cmon son. nikkas asked me if I wanted to hop on a reunion mixtape because they was getting the old group back together :francis: like no nikka....I do not want my employer to see me on Google rapping about guns and bytches and other dumb shyt at 30 :francis: Then when I shut them down, they tried to ask me if I wanted to help manage local artists (a few cats that were 22-24 trying to make it)....they were WACK....but even if they weren't, i have no desire to manage or be involved with music in anyway. If nikkas were talking about legit businesses they wanted to open I might've been interested but, I'm so beyond the rap shyt at this point, I was disgusted to hear that in the last ten years, my mindset done grew a million different ways, seen different cities, countries, been around all sorts of people and places, and my old friends were still trying to chase the same rap dreams they were chasing at 17. At some point you gotta grow up. And the sad thing is most of them have kids, so they should've been got that message :francis: I'm one of the few nikkas in that old circle that doesn't have kids yet. Truthfully, looking back, I wish I never wasted time rapping. I didn't pay attention to my studies in high school and graduated with a poor GPA. Had I applied myself as hard back then as I did in college, I would have had a 4.0 GPA or something, and the whole trajectory of my life would've been much faster and much farther than where I am now. That's a real regret looking back. It's just sad that I peep that but, my old friends don't and are still chasing dreams I put away at 20 :francis:

I’m actually drawn to the entertainment business unless it’s music. I have experience in it at a small label that was/is distributed via Universal and it’s a hustle. Just fukking foolish people over.

However, the film/tv industry is only growing now that more people sit at home and consume entertainment all day.

Like you, I got my degree mid 20s but I don’t regret ever being a musician/composer just being involved with rap.

The Truth
And why is mostly everyone assuming art means rapping:mjlol:

Rap isn’t even on my radar anymore. I know some who sing as well but only loosely but they’re still known locally.

And then nikkas act like 30 is the end all be all for everyones life. Maybe because nikkas be getting washed up in their mid-20’s where my nikkas still get carded

to be honest now in todays climate with old ass rappers and people debuting at 30 years old+ like mackelmore and co, i wouldnt knock them.

also anything can happen in life you need to be prepared but if your dreams are making you dusty, then you need to kick in a go to plan straight away even if its just to get back to dreaming.
