naw these kids stressed tf out these days
Thats exactly what I felt. They've got way more external pressure that pours in via the screen than we ever did. Everything in life has a pecking order/hierarchy and we had one within our team that then expanded out to the street and maybe a few places beyond as well as school. That was it.
Modern kids have that and then the entire world to deal with before they've even take a step to discover their own strengths and weaknesses. Its like back then when
you'd dare someone to jump across two buildings you could size up who was shook, who'd do it because they wanted to for the thrill, who'd do it not to look like a bish but was actually terrified etc..
Just a simple example from a random day but dang did we learn a lot about others and ourselves in the most direct and visceral way that only a childs imagination, honesty and fearlessness can cook up because everyone was always thinking up something new to do based on whatever was around us.
True freestyling whilst these days kids are doing the equivalent of spitting pre-writtens.
I think generation z is considered the most depressed generation ever. 80s babies seem to be so happy.
I actually found an old vhs clip of some kids hanging out in the 80s on YouTube and made a thread about it on here. And nikkas were in that thread saying things like
McDonalds was a luxury and how they use to love to play and hang out.

The bolded is so true. Many of things that kids accept as standard fare now where treats/luxuries. This is what I meant about having less outside but more inside. For sure there is a resonance there but not many people speak about it because they just accept what they're given instead of being self directed.
yeah.
cause their definition of "fun" is different.
"they don't know what it's like to", sure. but my definition of fun shouldn't define anyone else's
True and not true at the same time. In terms of development there is an immense difference in endorphins/neural connections created doing real world things vs watching someone else do it via a screen. Thats the main gist of the thread. Its like how
we played video games but now kids gladly watch someone else playing.
You could argue the same thing with sports fans as well but thats a conversation the Coli isn't ready for.
Every generation thinks their childhood was the best

Gen Z babies will be saying the same shyt in 2040
Men lie, women lie but speed at which
kids lose that glow of innocence these days tell the truth in an instant. I'm more than certain the net isn't what most people think it is but thats another topic.
