Most of these kids don't leave the house. Spend all day on tiktok or arguing about irrelevant shyt on twitter.

The only games these boys play are fortnite, valorant, apex or cod, so I know the gamers are bored as fukk too

They will have no stories to tell in the future

This is gonna blow a lot of minds but these kids have fun in their own way. Their own way. So if you are trying to judge it from your personal vantage point you won't get it. You're probably a narcissist, too.

Somebody said the kids are stressed out. Kids are normally stressed out. Insecure too. I know very few folks I grew up with that had anything approaching this mythical perfect childhood I hear the 'back in my day' clowns talk about.

The disconnect between the old and the young is partly because the old think their way is the only way. Even though they themselves broke away from those before them. It's a goofy cycle. But it's a case of Pride Before Progress.

You'd think there weren't single moms in the 80s and 90s if you listen to some of these kats. I look at them and wonder how they survived under that rock for 40 plus years. You'd think there was never a serious drug problem(clowns actually act like drugs is a new thing)...never a problem with gun violence. NO was the murder capital of the world in the 90s and you had dudes bragging about it on wax. But if some obscure a$$hole on IG posts up with guns all of a sudden it's some new epidemic. The hell?

It's fascinating to behold. When folks put on their rose colored glasses they literally say anything.

Pride Before Progress....comes before the fall? No we have already fallen. And refuse to pick each other up.

Children are having as much fun as any other time in history.

But see....posts like this carry no weight in this discussion even though it's true! Folks have it in their heads that something just has to be wrong with these kids. Not because they actually interact with them. But because they are not growing up the way they did. 95% of the posts in here are discussions about what was fun for a kid in the 80s. There are levels to fun. Why would the definition of fun never change in folks eyes?

I think I know.

If people admit the youth can have fun in a different way than they did I think folks have to admit they are old. Or a part of them will die forever. Has to be something deep rooted.

Either that or it's jealousy. A lot of folks who run down current rappers are jealous. You just know these dudes are failed rappers with an axe to grind.

Everyone thinks their generation had the most fun as kids. Everyone thinks the current trend has ruined fun for the next generation of kids.

My idea of 'fun' as a 70's baby is too different to make a judgment on what 'fun' consists of for kids in today's world.

All I can say, objectively, is that in-person social interaction seems to be lacking......and I'm an Introvert.

There's far more 'observers' than 'participants', these days.​

I grew up in the 10s and I had a great childhood

I would be outside with the neighborhood kids playing football, basketball, riding bikes or whatever. And we also had the internet at our fingertips and the Xbox 360/wii/ps3 era

I be watching how kids have fun nowadays , there’s a few things I wish we had growing up but all in all they don’t seem to be as happy. They are content watching tv all day - we got to go outside and live out our imaginations. Building tree houses and forts , playing games outside , sandlot baseball etc etc
