Do you think we will ever have a talent like Michael Jackson in the future again?

Chris Brown and the Weeknd exist :comeon:. Following in the GOAT's footsteps:wow:

Weeknds music probably the closes to Michaels in terms of feel, but he can’t dance at all.

Chris Brown is good at both song and dance but not transcendent in either.

Michael is transcendent in both singing and dancing. He was and is a true unicorn

In terms of talent and artistry, yes

But for me Prince, Stevie Wonder, etc> MJ

Impact, no

With advances in technology the last 20 years its hard to monopolize or rather hold the general publics attention...in the 80s, 90s and prior you couldn't escape certain artist even you wanted to

Technology is frying peoples minds, the older millenials that grew up without smart phones and high speed internet (Floyd Jr, LeBron, Tom Brady, Serena Williams) are the final GOATs IMO.
Building upon this, the younger generations consume so much shyt that mediocre artists are on a pedestal to them. I can't even listen to the YouTubers that younger people listen to and blast like they're on the level of MJ.

Sounds? Sure, the Weeknd handles that.

But both singing and dancing? Bruno could still very easily pull it off if he had more content.
Neither of these guys are producing the level of quality Michael was. I can name album songs of his that are better than Bruno and Weeknd’s biggest songs. They’re also mimicking him which makes them underwhelming whereas what made Michael so impressive was his originality

Mike wasn’t just a natural talent, he was also pushed to his limits as a child by his father. Every last drop of potential was squeezed from Mike ever since he could walk and talk. And he had insane work ethic until the day he stopped breathing.

Another MJ will never just “come along”, you’d have to make one.

Not until the current low brow, looking for a cheat code method of reaching the top of an artistic profession bottoms out.
Michael Jacksons, Jordans, Kobes, Princes, etc are created through the hard work of learning the one's craft and working at it until mastering it.
Michael surpassed his peers because mastery wasn't enough. He wanted to push boundaries and do things never done before.
It took him about 20 years to reach that point. We don't realize it because he started so young.
That approach is too time consuming and labor intensive and the current generations are not interested in those things at all.

Exactly. We have the least disciplined artists on top today that don't take their craft or its foundation seriously. Working hard for cheap hits, fabricated by technology.

no way.
the pain mj went through growing up having no childhood and becoming a public figure so young was only possible back then, its impossible to repeat that in 2022. You cant even do that to children anymore. Forcefully make them work that hard. Parents would get cancelled with the quickness. MJ was talented but he put in the work to back up the success basically all his life. Talent alone dont make a GOAT. Lots of people have lots of raw natural talent. Working hard to back up the talent is something many cant muster.
