Honestly, most people that grew up on the original The Chronic ain't checking for Dr. Dre music no more; and haven't been for a long time

The Chronic was my older sister's teenage years and she damn sure ain't checking for no music by Dr. Dre, nor or any of her friends. Certain music doesn't stand the test of time the older you get and Dre's is 1 of em'. With age and time, you ain't trying to hear no shyt like Dre's music when you 40 plus. :yeshrug:
Dre doesnt stand the test of time?

Breh the chronic was the first real hip hop record that my sheltered suburban ass could fukk with

That was 13 years ago... shyt don't change :wow:

Outkast is the only ones I still listen to and I'm bout to turn 37. You'd be surprised how many old heads still bang that old Deathrow shyt. I myself was surprised how many 25 year old nikkaz could recite lyrics from that, Doggystyle and All Eyez On Me. shyt from that time was timeless, I can agree with you that those females you know wouldn't recite bytches aint shyt but play Nuthing But A G Thang for em and see what happens.

My momma is over 50 and if I played that shyt for her I guarantee you that she would :blessed: until she would hear all the cussing and be like :camby: until I hit her with the :umad: after I said "don't act like you ain't get jiggy to this shyt" :russ:

Yeah, true but you know what I mean. nikkas 40 plus ain't checking for no new shyt like that. Of course they might revisit the shyt outta nostalgia or if it comes on the radio or randomly on their spotify but wouldn't nobody 40 plus be checking for no NEW shyt from Dre like that, bruh bruh

"bytches ain't shyt" was just an example of a song but you know what I mean. And yeah I agree, if Nuthin But A G Thing comes on, everybody is nodding their heads and remincscing but again, if Dre came back with an album full of that shyt again and trying to do what he's already at 50, it would get looked at funny and as a joke in 2017.

That's not what I said, bruh.

I think some of y'all missing the point I'm making. I think @SteelCitySoldier @African Peasant and @zayk35 got it

I'm just saying with AGE, the older you get, the more usually, most of us tend to mellow out and our perspective on things from entertainment to whatever can change.

Most 40 year olds would not be checking for a Chronic type of album from Dr. Dre ( man who's at least 52) in 2017.

20 some years ago? Yes, of course. But with time and age, people grow up and move on from some shyt.

Oh hell yea ain't nobody trying to hear that shyt as a grown ass person, that's why we stick with the music that we grew up on. New rappers today I check for are Ross, Wale, Nipsey, Kendrick and then nikkaz is old for real. It's why nikkaz like me be like "fukk Migos and these new generation because they ain't spittin shyt we want to hear".

You seem to grasp what a lot of younger muthafukas don't grasp...PEOPLE GROW UP!!! We ain't hating we just old as fukk and don't want to hear the shyt that our kids are listening to lol.

Yeah, I'm in my early 30s but I'm an old soul. See, me personally, I'm over Hip Hop and I really have been for quite some time. I can talk about it all day long here but honestly, when I listen to it a lot of the time now, I just be going through the motions with it and it's nostalgia for me a lot of times. But the new shyt? I don't really fukk with it. A few cats doing their thing like Kendrick and Chance is ok but honestly, not even that sticks with me.

I'm more of an R&B head anyway and always have been. Gimmie Diary of a Mad Band and I'm good :yeshrug:

Bruh he gets what a lot of younger people don't get. My kids wonder why I get up and listen to some Alicia Keys or Jill Scott or anything R&B in the morning while they bangin fukking Luca Brasi or Migos or some other foul ass shyt. Ain't nobody trying to hear Kevin Gates talkin bout fukking first thing in the morning before I go to work, but when I was going to school first thing I banged in the morning was "bytches ain't shyt". You get older you grow up and change, this lil muthafuka gets it while 90% of the youth don't, props to lil homie

Yeah, it's far easier to go back and listen to shyt like Tribe, Mos Def or De La Soul cause they made music that wasn't so box into some shyt that you mostly only find cool when you a teenager. They actually had some shyt to say.

Be a 40 year old man or woman and be reciting lyrics like "with my nuts my ya tonsils", bruhs :picard:

I'm not even interested in anything new by dre. I wasn't feeling that compton shyt.

fukk detox as well tbh :mjlol:

That Compton shyt was good but it wasn't "his shyt", and this thread just might be the reason why we won't ever see Detox.

Dre probably be like "my fans don't want to hear this shyt and ain't no 20 year old bout to listen to a 50 year old nikka rappin bout banging". He gets it and knows he can't win.
