Those Blazers, Kings, Mavs (the Suns rose later and actually beat Kobe led teams twice) squads were all soft, mentally and or physically, and always folded. None of those teams (except the Spurs which managed to beat Shaq and Kobe twice) had a player as good as Shaq OR Kobe yet folks are determined to act like they were running through some gauntlet.
