Don't fall for the okie doke. Reread what I typed about the media and their bullsh1t. Sports media is notorious for this type of thing. The Celtics wanted to get rid of contracts for draft picks. It's a business move, nothing more nothing less.
Paul Pierce was with the Celtics when they were straight up terrible, but notice they didn't bat an eye to trade him out of there. Nobody is making a big deal out of that right? I wonder why?
Lets be honest, if you ask Pierce if he wants to go through a rebuild like this with the Celtics in his last few years or play with KG in Brooklyn, he chooses Brooklyn everytime.
He said he'll sign a one day contract and retire a Celtic regardless. He's an expiring anyways, you can never rule out that he comes back next year.

Basically this whole thread is saying that Doc showed no loyalty to the Celtics and quit on them. Boston didn't even attempt to make Paul Pierce an offer even though he was there when they were horrible and when they were great. Some may say they didn't show loyalty to him. I look at it through a business lens.
My point is you can't say that Doc Rivers quit on Boston and then accept the fact that Boston let one of it's best players in franchise history to just leave without offering him anything. Even if they knew he wasn't going to accept it, it would've shown that they really appreciated him for playing with them for all those years. Notice how quick you are to accepting the trade. Doc made a business move just like the Celtics made when they traded one of their best players ever. You don't see the problem here?

The Celtics agreed to let Doc look at other opportunities. Tell me exactly how did Doc handle this situation incorrectly or immorally? A coach can't just leave or even talk to a different team without his current team agreeing to it.
