Simmons didn't say anything that wasn't true. Doc has been trying to be slick with this shyt. If Doc would have just said he does not want to coach in a rebuilding situation nobody would have said shyt about it. He's been trying to say how he didn't want to leave or how Ainge threw him out

Doc's kid thinks he is throwing stones at some nobody Boston beat reporter. Like it or not, Simmons is going to be at ESPN for a long time and he will have pretty much free reign during his stay. With all of their personalities leaving for FOX and NBC, Simmons' power at the network is only increasing. I used to like reading some of his articles.. I think he's fallen off now but it is what it is. People like the idea of this guy calling out GM's, coaches, players, refs etc.. because ex-players, ex-coaches and ex-officials aren't going to do it.
Bill Simmons is the Kanya West of sports "journalism." It's uncanny.

Dwight and Doc both quit and deserved to get shyt on. Bron only got shyt on because of a tv show not that he left Cleveland.
Don't defend folks blindly just cause they black. Simmons says shyt I don't agree with, but he's right on this. Doc would've made the same either way, but it's funny cause the Clips ain't winning a ship anyway.
Here's the thing, he DID quit on the Celtics. Simmons is right. Doc has been such a fantastic politician with the media that he's basically gotten a free pass for this. Had he been ANYBODY ELSE he would be getting shytted on hardcore.
Dude was saying he came back after last extension because "I'm a Celtic," and acknowledged when he signed the five year deal that at some point he wouldn't have the Big Three and would need to go through a rebuild to get back to a championship contender.

Doc and his kid take an L here. Simmons spit nothing but truth and they both are pusy hurt. Doc most overrated coach it took 3 hall of famers and GOAT coach in the game now (thibs to win a title) 1 title for that big 3 is a disappointment imo

Aren't the Celtics in rebuilding mide? Why would anybody be mad at an accomplished coach for not wanting to go through that? So he can lose games and get fired?

Doc changed his tune alot, i respect him but he could have been a little bit more direct about all this. pretty obvious he wanted out
Then doc should have just made that clear instead of waffling back and forth while under contract stating "its time to move on"....I think that might have had something to do with it...
