That's Doc right to leave Boston for greener pastures. I'm pretty sure Simmons

had 2 leave another news organization for greener pastures aka ESPN.

:rudy:

Sure. If Doc's contract was over he could do whatever in the hell he wanted, but he was still in a contract for the next 3 YEARS as the highest paid coach in the league and decided to force the Celts hand. They had the right to force him into retirement like the Lions did Barry Sanders.

I'd call bullshyt on any player that tried to do the same shyt. At least Bron and Dwight were free agents when they did what they did.

boston let him out of his contract. everyone knew it wouldn't work with rondo/doc in a rebuilding scenario. y'all acting like boston wouldn't have fired him sooner than later once they went full steam ahead with tank mode. cats steady acting these organizations have some kind of loyalty to their employees. their loyalty is to their profit margin and winning. no player or coach will get in their way of that. doc been in the league way too long to just wait in the middle of the road for that bus to run him over.

So what do y'all call it when a team fires a coach under contract?

firstly thats a totally different scenario, and even in that situation the team doesnt just say "fukk you we aint paying ya" they pay every cent they were obligated to on that contract. doc rivers signed a contract saying he was would be on the celtics sideline for an x amount of years, and before those years were done he decided to bail on the team because he felt the window for success had closed. thats literally the definition for quitting on a team

It's the same principle. The team thinks they need a change to get what they want and the coach thinks he needs a change of scenery to get what he wants and accomplish his goals.
And yes a fired coach is getting paid but he's not getting the years and time he thought he was to do his job despite what the team thinks.
It's all about each doing what they think is best for them contract be damned.

I dont think Doc quit. I just think Ainge realized its would make no sense in paying a coach of his calibur all that money to coach scrubs and start a re-building project. Honestly i think that came to a mutual understanding. Cac fanboy analyst like bill simmons just feel they have the right to make asumptions and they don't even have all the facts.

So we gonna act like ESPN aint trying this feud happen?

Why would you ask Doc's opinion on that anyway? and then immediatley go to Simmons for a rebuttal.

fukk that

What would Simmons have had to say about Doc if he stuck around and the team sucked for the next 3 years? :comeon: Dude is a self-acknowledged homer so I don't know why anyone would take what he has to say about Boston seriously. Did Doc orchestrate his exit? Probably. Can you really blame him though? No. This is business. Everybody is in business to do what's best for them. All this "loyalty" and "family" talk is nothing more than game. If it was really like that nikkas wouldn't need contracts.

If the Celtics could've traded Doc straight up for CP3 and Blake, Simmons would been :dj2: and no fukks woulda been given about how Doc felt. I am beyond tired of this fake ass, convenient, inconsistent, wide eyed innocence nikkas wanna display when they don't like a move somebody made.

Aren't the Celtics in rebuilding mide? Why would anybody be mad at an accomplished coach for not wanting to go through that? So he can lose games and get fired?

See, this is wrong. Simmons and everyone else who has criticized Doc did not do so because he left, period. He is getting criticized for trying to throw everyone else under the bus instead of just telling the truth that he did not want to be a part of the rebuilding process. He's getting shyt on because of his lies.

This whole situation is so retarded

from Doc even entertaining this nonsense...to now actively engaging Simmons...it's ludicrous

and Simmons...I always enjoyed his columns...but I can't take his nonsense as a personality...it's over the top and annoying.

and the most annoying thing of it all is that ESPN is fanning the flames...they are encouraging a writer and a coach to actually confront each other...like this will solve anything...like this even matters...but they've been doing this crap for awhile now

that being said...I can't lie...I was :heh:when Doc popped off last night...then :jawalrus: when Simmons hit back...and now Doc is out here claiming Simmons tried to get him fired :lolbron:

I love the fukkery...I'm part of the problem :sadcam:
