No issue with what Simmons is doing. Everyone else at ESPN is busy trying to be friends with players and coaches and get invited to all the Serena parties. A real life idiot over-the-top sports fan like Simmons is making their coverage slightly more tolerable. It's as if a coli poster is running the show. It's an L for Doc to even address a coli poster but here he is. Hilarious.

Doc DID quit on the team. If Doc wanted to coach the Celtics he would be. He signed a 5 year deal with the understanding Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett weren't gonna get any younger and there would be a rebuilding period. He said "I'm a Celtic." Then to pull all this behind the scenes, and also purposely make sure Bledsoe wouldn't go to the Celtics while under contract to Boston is fukked up. Because he is such a good politician and likable with the media, with the exception of Simmons, he got a free pass.

i forgot Simmons got season tickets with the Clippers 
I lived in Boston for 2 years just before the big 3 came to fruition, when the team was bad but everyone in the Boston media loved Rivers. Ryan, McMillan, Holley, WEEI, all of them. Except Simmons, who was still living in LA. Simmons wrote column after column criticizing Doc, and in between those columns he'd go after him in mailbags. Bill was a little obsessive, but to be fair, Rivers was terrible. He did an awful job managing rotations, his in-game adjustments were poor, and defensively the Celtics were brutal. Remember, this is before Ubuntu, Thibs arriving, and KG/Ray showing up.
That said, Simmons doesn't strike as the kinda guy who would write letters or try to sit down with owners. He's passionate, but he's not insane. One, he has admitted in the past that he writes better (and more popular) columns when his teams suck (ie. the Red Sox pre-'04). Two, he lives on the West Coast. Bill's going to travel across the country to meet with owners?

Bill Simmons is real as fukk for calling him out and speaking his mind on his shyt on a network full of yes men. Doc keeps changing his story, nobody cares about him leaving it's him trying to uphold some sort of image and changing his story to paint himself better which is dumb as fukk.
And let's be real before Doc got the big 3 EVERYONE said he was a wack coach and wanted him to leave, losing 15 games in a row and shyt. I'm not saying he's bad I think he's a good coach but how are you gonna make it seem like Simmons is just hating.

I agree people just love Doc so they ignore what he did.Its like when Alonzo Mourning scumbagged the Nets but people liked him and he was sick so thye ignored it
WIth that said Simmons subtely threatening him like he has some pull in the nba i think hes a little dellusional there i doubt he has any power in the league
