Sports management/owners are some of the most disloyal people in this earth, so cant blame coaches and players wanting to leave... you act like if the situation was reversed, the celtics wouldnt get rid of doc rivers in an instant, and then when he went to go and find a new coaching job " well you didnt do so well with the celtics your past few years, we'll give you a call if you got the job "

Actually, if you are under contract, you do owe them. If Doc was fired, he would still receive every penny owed to him as well.

Remember, this started because Doc was trying to be slick talking about he wasn't sure he wanted to come back, was looking into TV, etc.. and this was not even halfway through his contract after he said he would be happy to undergo a rebuilding process once Pierce/KG, etc are gone. How else can he be viewed OTHER than quitting on the team?

I thought it was more a case of a lawsuit type threat.

Simmons ain't pure hating cause he's been praising doc for years. I think his major criticism was for Doc to just come out and say he didn't want to go through a rebuilding process instead of trying to come off like the good guy. I see no problem with that.

All Simmons is saying right there is that he did not actually go to owners and try to sit down with them, etc. Everyone knows about his articles tearing Doc apart prior to the Big 3 era. Simmons talks about it all the time.
