Per ESPN's Trey Wingo: doctor has expressed concern about how Redskins plan to use RGIII in their offense.

What @wingoz also reports: Dr. Andrews does not want Redskins to expose RGIII's knee to punishment during games.

This is why you take the classic drop back qb like Luck over the long haul because hell actually be able to be there for the long haul :mjpls:

RG3 is good at throwing tho

he dont have to run the option read if he dont need/want to

He can throw but what seperates him and makes him really good is his ability to run,if hes just a drop back passer hes not nearly as dynamic so its a double edged sword

Since when is it a doctor's place to question an athlete's responsibilities to his/her team and sport?

Could a doctor say to a basketball player, "I'm worried about you jumping"?

Just patch the guy up and shut up.

:what: You realize these teams keep these doctors on payroll so they can get medical information and advice on their players, right? It's perfectly within the team doctor's right to say what physical activities a player is and is not capable of, especially after total knee reconstruction...

How do you think RG3 tore his knee up in playoffs in the first place? Oh yeah, by not heeding Dr. Andrews' advice... :skip:

ATL…overly
You don't have to be a doctor to be concerned about how the Skins are using Cornball Brother...I think both of those tweets are examples of ESPN using its personalities & staff to create headlines. Neither one of those tweets is particularly thought provoking or insightful yet it's newsworthy? :dahell:

The way they talk about RG3, it's like I feel his career-ending knee injury is already being foreshadowed. :sadbron:

I think the doctor crosses the line when he starts recommending what RG3 can and cannot do on the field. His legs are an integral part of his profession and he has to use them.

So if Dr. Andrews is the guy behind RG3's total knee reconstruction, and is also the physician behind his rehab, and is also the physician doing weekly, if not daily checkups on him, he's crossing the line by observing him in practice and determining what is okay and what is hazardous to his health?

It's a physician's job to look after their patients. Dr. Andrews was involved with RG3's injury and rehab the entire way, and he's now following up on his patient. This is standard procedure. He's not crossing any line. If anything, the Redskins are just ignoring his advice like they did after he fukked up his knee in the first place after the Ravens game last year.

If a baseball pitcher tore up his throwing arm and had to get Tommy John surgery, would a doctor be crossing the line by observing his throwing mechanics a year later and telling the pitcher/pitching staff that he needs to alter his throwing motion because he's putting too much strain and torque on the elbow? No, because that's exactly what a team doctor is supposed to do.
