I might be one of those rare non smokers that fukks with Curren$y. PIilot Talk II made me a fan. He can spit when he wants to but I can see his overall style being too laid back for some though. I buy his retail releases and go to his shows whenever he's in L.A.

im part of that club, i might have blazed twice in my life. i just fukk with his music and his mindstate-fukking bytches, being cool and making money. his music just motivational listen to 10 G's

Curren$y is a great great rapper. He is technically sound. Switched up the flow often. Changes up the rhyme patterns, switching between end rhyme and internal rhyme fluidly. And his subject matter is varied I know some people only hear the "weed raps" cause he does talk about marijuana a lot, his main theme is going out there and getting it urself. Which is why I am a fan, since I don't smoke the funny tobacco.



Then can hit u with the smoothest rap joints ever on the same tape.

Use to own all his CDs retail...sold them all except for Pilot Talk. His delivery and energy levels are so uninspired and low that it's really hard to listen to. He depends on production so much. As a lyricist he's pretty weak. This thread should replace Curren$y with Big K.r.i.t. because he's clearly the better artist.

I'm laughing at people saying he doesn't talk about shyt.

Currensy is just heavily slept on when it comes to just rapping, I can almost guarantee you he goes over your head. It's easy to assume he's not talking about shyt. He is what I call low key hungry, and low key witty. If you can't feel his energy then you need to open up a bit more..need to be receptive to it, he has his own indirect style. Don't let the southern drawl and voice fool you.

Coming from a "purist" or whatever, I can tell you he is a top level/top tier emcee in my eyes. I mean, just from a technical standpoint he has a wide array of flows. I can see how some people think it's all the same though, all they care about is "energy" or whatever. He didn't call himself 16 switch spitta for no reason. Soak him up, or miss out.

This is true. People who dog him for his lyricism and flows aren't really listening to his music.

Everyone complains about how everything sounds the same today, but will dismiss someone who's paved an entirely different lane for himself and has mastered it as being boring or out of touch.

If, however, you are a detractor who doesn't like his music because of his voice, beat selection, etc., that's simply your opinion and you're entitled to it. But dismissing him because you think he "doesn't talk about shyt" or isn't a skilled MC is dumb.

Can't hate Curren$y, great music. Original flow and sound. Has his own lane and stays in it. More artist should find their lanes instead of trying to flow like Rick Ross or Gucci.

eBay....sold them for cheap after Weekend at Bernies and The Stoned Immaculate I lost all faith in dude musically. Curren$y might be the most boring rapper ever. I get nothing from his music at all. Its aight to listen to a few joints I still like, but the days of being an avid fan are over. Honestly Big K.R.I.T. can rap his same content in a more appealing way. Which is why I don't see the need for dude at all. When K.R.I.T. can give me those joints that just bang and so much more content and emotion.
