How did you go about getting diagnosed. Psycologist? Psychiatrist?

And also what are the side effects of Adderal? Any other supplements i can take to help in the meantime?
diagnosed via a psychologist. You do something called a psychoanalytic/IQ test doing a bunch of random simple activities. Trust me it will make you look silly but once you get the diagnosis it's a relief. I got average slightly above IQ but I was doing some really simple/stupid ass mistakes

There's different types of ADHD as well. Some people are more imaginative some people are more hyperactive. Some have both but are more in one direction than the other. I'm more imaginative; it's a bytch

@god shamgod that dude got the severe type get him some help. Dude may not be able to function

Everyday is a struggle for me but I have found a few tools to keep it somewhat balanced. Everyday I meditate usually in the morning and this keeps me grounded and less neurotic throughout the day. I also took a new job as developer and had to go through intense training a few months back. To work around my ADD I decided to order some modafinil. Taking that kept me extremely focused and made it easier for me grasp abstract concepts without getting impatient. Towards the end of my training I was starting to develop a tolerance to it and stopped taking it altogether. Meditation keeps grounded but it doesnt give me the tunnel like focus modafinil gave me. I am able to focus on a task for about an hour at a time without getting too bored.
The sex thing has been a persistent struggle..but I wont go to in depth with that.

Another technology that I am strongly considering is neuro feedback training. The shyt is expensive but ot yields positive results supposedly

Yeah but I never took meds. They put my cousin on em though but it didn't help.

Weed helps a lot with the restlessness and inability to stay focused.

Concerta in the morning, 18mg, and obsessive organization/studying.
I always take it after breakfast (around 630am) and the "appetite suppressant" side-effect wears off by lunch time (around 1130).
Doesn't affect my sleep at all. :yeshrug:

Yeah I have Zero appetite when I take Concerta

My wife and kids used to it at this point. They just lay their like they still sleeping while I clobber around in my work boots yelling obscenities at 530 am. :mjlol:

Was ADD a thing back in the late 90/early 2000s? I never heard of it back then, now everybody and they momma claims to have it. Placebo illness.

Wasn't as big back then. I think you had to have a kinda extreme case before they thought to test you for it. They had my cousin on meds for it back in the mid 80s.

Think I have this.

I can have a conversation with someone and not even pay attention to what they are talking about I'm just thinking about what I'm a say or ask next or think about random shyt.

I watch a episode. 2 mins in im like I can't wait for the episode to end I need to do something or I'm just ready for the next episode to say I watched it.

Sometimes when I'm reading or trying to learn. Instead of just reading or listening to the lecture I'm like I need to read this I need to read that I need to learn this other shyt too.

I be like damn I wanna play the entire kh series. 10 mins in I'm like damn I wanna play the GTA series.

shyt is annoying.

Feel like I just coast through shyt instead of enjoying

The biggest indicator is you ever reach a plane of hyper focus on something that you have to be physically jarred from.

When you struggle all day to concentrate on anything, you at times find something that clicks in your brain ( video games are a big one, music, art) At these times you find a calmness and relaxation you rarely get and dive so deep in to this activity everything around you disappears.

You even stop doing the uh huh and yea in a conversation you are ignoring, that's when my wife knows. She is good about it though and let's me go for a bit knowing I need it.

She also packs my lunch and sets my work clothes out everynight like I'm a 12 year old boy going to school:mjcry:

Goddamn I Love that woman:banderas:

Finally spoke to my doctor about it and he gave me a prescription for Vyvanse. He said he wanted me to try Vyvanse first and see how i like it but if i want to try Adderall he'd give it to me another time.

Anyone tried it before?

THis is my second day using it and i can see SOME improvement but i guess it doesnt work miracles. I feel like im a lot less impulsive. I have more self control. I'll be doing something and think about jumping onto something else but somehow i refocus on what im doing. THe few times that i do allow myself to get distracted i have enough focus to go back to the original task instead on jumping onto another then another then another like i used to.
