As for the people that commented on this thread it’s very weird when it comes to STDs people are just straight up brutally mean for no reason. Supposedly the black community is affected the worst, and clowns make fun of people going through such situations. No one wants to get an STD, no one willingly catches, an STD, so why are people so cruel to people when people find themselves affected?

I look at a person going through it same as any type of unfortunate medical situation, I treat the person with care and compassion, because who knows what’s going on with them mentally.

With all that being said, stay up OP. It’s not the end of the world.

Beautiful post. Statistically a lot of people in this thread are lying or in denial, which is how it keeps spreading in our community.

This is why society needs to stop treating promiscuity like it’s a rite of passage. There’s nothing you can do to 100% safeguard from all these diseases and some of them have resistant strains. We already have epidemics of several STDs and cancer is one result.

I used to check this pornstar death list and a whole bunch on it die from cancer young. You can’t tell me that’s not some weird STD thing.

Facts. I have friends with it…there’s usually a lil depression initially but it’s not a big deal. You can have sex normally. Just be careful around outbreaks. It’s fine brother

A family member of mine has it, she takes one pill a day for suppression which prevents outbreaks from occuring, it also significantly decreases the chances of passing it on to someone else. If she feels symptoms an outbreak she doubles the dosage for a few days. For a person's very first outbreak a higher dosage is recommended for at least 10 days. She's married and her husband does not have it, or at least he has never had symptoms.

Most people have herpes but it doesn't manifest any symptoms, sometimes for years. So someone can give you herpes, you have no symptoms for 8 years and then eventually you have an outbreak. And you think it's your current spouse but you actually had it for years. Shyt is wild.

Doctors don't test for it unless you have an outbreak because most people already have it but blood tests aren't super accurate

That's the main reason why I decided to chill from the casual sex/FWB shyt, I don't want one of these chicks to pass it on to me and now my dating life is ruined.

Over time, the outbreaks or likelihood of outbreaks decreases.

I had an internship as a pharmacy technician and Valacyclovir (Valtrex) was always in extremely high demand, on some days they would have to tell people to come back another day when we finally have enough of the meds in stock.

It is a manageable virus from what i have read up on it, you should be able to live a normal healthy life, just like diabetes or any other chronic issue.Goodluck!
