No trolling. Real discussion.
Its obvious the Panthers have to improve the wr corps. They need 2 other legit wrs. They also need a 2nd TE.
But Cam has to improve his game as well. He's still the same guy from his rookie year in a lot of ways.
Still throwing off his back foot. Indecisive throws/late.
Struggles in the red zone.
He had the most Over throws in the NFL (and he missed 2 games)
Cam is good and can be very good.
The question I have is....
Does Cam have the talent.... to be great?
For example, is he Carmelo. You know Melo is very good...but never on a LeBron/KD level.
We'll find out for sure if he gets some weapons.
However, I'm watching Russell Wilson's feel for the game. It's just different. Same with Andrew Luck.
I can say right now Jameis Winston processes information quicker and is more decisive with the football.
Cam is the most physically gifted QB in the league. But struggles with some of the little things.
I think he needs a QB Guru to really figure out how to get the best out of him.
Good points. But let's remember the dude has been beat up all year. Coming back from ankle surgery and an OL that got him killed. Plus the car accident.....you saw him huffing and puffing last game so the dude is beat up. He also was hot as fukk and making tons of big throws at the beginning of the year before he began to get beat up.
A QB is only as good as his OL, Weapons and OC.
That is why Randell Cunningham can look like he is done in his last year in philly, retires and comes back with Denny Green's Vikings and goes to the pro bowl while leading the Vikings almost to a supernowl if not for a bad kick.
Same with how Mcnabb went from 16 TDs and 57% completion percentage the year before TO and a full time Westbrook as the back. To then the next year throwing at 64% and being the first QB in the history of the league (before the rule changes) to throw over 30 tds and less than 10 ints.
McNabb did not all of a sudden learn how to read defenses (yet the white media will tell you that) he could always do that. He didn't all of a sudden learn how to throw (yet the white media will tell you that) No it was he finally had weapons to go along with his good OL and good OC. Also the year he got TO he ran for less yards then he had the previous years. Why because having Westbrook and TO opened up the field and his WRs were open. So no need to improvise.
Like I said doc I have seen this shyt over and over again. From Randell, to McNabb to McNair.....same shyt different day. I predicted that his talent would be wasted just like the rest of them. Thankfully Russell has something that many great black QBs haven't had over the years. A power running game, a coach who will let him throw and a good OC who will call a balanced game and place him in positions to succeed.
Last you cannot ask a QB to be the leading rusher on your team every year (dude is also the teams goal line and short yardage back....think how ignorant that shyt is for a QB to be), Play behind a garbage OL, have running backs that are not dependable due to injuries, have no speed at WR. Consistently refuse to draft skill position players for him except this year and year after year take away an offensive weapon from him (Shockey and Smith). Doing all of that and still the young man has had garbage OC who consistently placed him in poor positions and positions to get him killed. As we saw at the beginning of last year with Shula and the year before where they abandoned the two TE sets and ran fukking read option play after play for over 9 weeks.
This dude is Randell all day. From the no OL, to the good defense, to the avg WRs, to the poor OC, to the one reliable guy who is a TE, to the coach who knows nothing about offense but is a defensive coordinator with ties to the Bears.
shyt don't change it just repeats itself. All I can hope for Cam is he doesn't get a knee blown out and the Panther cut him in 7 years where he signs on with a team with some weapons and resurrects his career like Doug or Randall for one or two runs.
