She pays for her phone and food. She doesn't get many hours at her job.

Well food and transportation need to be first, phone last. I don't think 4 months is a long enough time for you to be supplementing her life but since you're doing it anyway, I don't think it would be awful if you added an additional line to your phone account and LEND that phone to her and you just take care of the bill. Doesn't need to be fancy with a bunch of data and all that but it will make it easier for you and if it doesn't work out you just cut the phone off. I think supplementing someone's food and transportation would be a more difficult relationship to end, especially if you're a nice person.

The next thing she needs to do is work on getting a more stable job. Is she in school or something?

I haven't asked my guy for money. I have my own money. We spend money on each other when we go out. Nothing big or fancy to be honest. We are both frugal and not materialistic, but don't mind spending more than usual if it is something we both really like. I know that if I was in a tough situation like being homeless then he would be there to help me.I know that if I went shopping and my card declined he would pay for it. Then again I never go shopping unless I have checked my bank accounts He doesn't mind giving me money if I wanted to buy shoes, get a mani-pedi, or some other stuff, but he's not stupid enough to consistently do it.

Nah breh I dont play that lemme hold something game. It's not about the money it's a psychological thing, she thinks she can live beyond her means because someone always saves her. Every month its a new financial crisis, and your doing her no favors in the long run. The sooner she hits rock bottom and learns to manage finances, the better.
