Does YouTuber “Lil Bill” have a problem by claiming that “the struggle” makes your black media political analysis makes you more legit?

The frustrating thing about this is that a lot of this media analysis wants to prioritize mediocrity as being more legitimate than people who figure it out. They really do hate successful black people and claim money makes black people “less” black in their eyes in a way.

This really is an intellectual way of rejecting success and reinforces the very paradigms that give rise to negativity in our communities...

These guys really are rebels without a cause...

I saw his review and it made me watch the movie.

I think his point was Black People who “made it” overly shyt on Black who “didn’t make it”. It dovetails into the fake Black Male HBCU crisis

also although the movie was supposed to be camp the shyt was low key lazily written and contrived as hell.

But like him I low key liked it for what it was.

I even agreed with his criticism of Get Out. despite also liking it.

guys like Bill really seem to hate money, black people who are successful and anyone who wants to move beyond a culture of lack and poverty. Theres nothing honorable in the struggle.

Well, you neither black nor successful so you wouldn't see the nuance of the conversation :ld:

Nah I get him and his point sometimes even being from the Hood myself I go too far into my Sgt. Waters The Day of the Geechie is over shyt.

Some hoteps believe that just because we’re not aping white culture that we’re not playing into respectabilty politics.

I do believe that the fact that we can’t tell Black people nothing is the biggest hinderance to the race but crying over a nikka sagging his jeans is too much too.

The answer is nuanced just like the Black Male HBCU “crisis” is.

exactly. You could say that all gangbangers are c00ns but you could say that all Black Police Captains are c00ns too. Both would be kinda right and wrong at the same time.

They really do try to shame black people for trying change their environment or chasing success. They hate “whiteness” so much that they think anything away from what they know is an attack on who they are.

Guys like Lil Bill confuse me because he really can’t hide his insecurity by being around black people with motion yet he claims white supremacy is the biggest issue we face while neglecting efforts to suppress destructive elements around us.

I liked They cloned Tyrone but I liked Undercover Brother better.

And there’s a whole trope of the evil Da Man in movies sometimes being an Opp or an ally like the CIA agent in Black Panther.

Well keep in mind he’s a youtube commentator.

F.D. had an excellent take which he rightfully put in the signified B-sides where he said that people just want to get a nut off on dissing Black Men with the concern trolling about the HBCU “crisis”.

But then he fukked it up by using a bell hooks reference to make his point.

Not because he was wrong about what hooks said or about people not reading enough of hooks stuff but by again dancing around the fact the shea butta section basically concern trolls to clown Black Men.

Lil Bill is a left leaning youtuber that manages to avoid shytting on Black Men and going overboard on giving passes to divestors. That’s as good as it gets on youtube.

Black commentators are gonna roast Black Men in the hood so far Bill is the only one low key giving them grace.

The fact that he calls himself Lil Bill when Cosby is supposed to be the devil incarnate is sort of a green flag to me.

FD is another one of those too-cool-for-school leftists who try to think that throwing the word “capitalism” in there makes your analysis more legitimize, innovative or insightful. They really dont want to admit there’s a narrow chance of success and routs of opportunity so they’d rather just make these grand conspiracies that incorporate everything but functionally change or challenge NOTHING.

How does one nikka getting money change the system that prevents millions from reaching upward mobility?
