Nas flopped and has been talked about as if illmatic is next to doggystyle.Nobody has done that though. Yeah, there's people who will tell you that Nas ran '94, but obviously those people weren't around to even have an opinion. Nas is my favorite rapper, and while Illmatic is his most acclaimed album, 1994 wasn't even the biggest year of his career. Obviously, Illmatic made an impact though, a huge one even if it was mostly on the East Coast. Mobb Deep, Wu, and Kool G. Rap had him on their albums. There were bigger rappers commercially, but Nas was sought after.
When in the real world he was nowhere near snoop.
This bias re-writing of history, is largely never extended to non east coast albums. shyt is big cap. Album ain't shyt. And none of them nikkas you just named was popping like that when they first put Nas on their album. Da fuk
