His explanation to the New York Times:


So pre-existing conditions are a tough deal. Because you are basically saying from the moment the insurance, you’re 21 years old, you start working and you’re paying $12 a year for insurance, and by the time you’re 70, you get a nice plan. Here’s something where you walk up and say, “I want my insurance.” It’s a very tough deal, but it is something that we’re doing a good job of.

That makes no sense on any level. He has no clue what he's saying. Not a freaking clue.

If a random poster in HL put this up as an explanation, he'd just get a bunch of :dahell: and :mindblown: and people would assume that he was drunk AND stupid.

This is the strangest year in American politics in my lifetime. :shaq2:

yup i posted about that a few days ago in the health care thread. he thinks it's life insurance and now i know it's specifically the gerber term life insurance that you cash out at 70. :mjcry:

i honestly don't get why more people aren't troubled by this. we've fallen so far down the rabbit hole that things that should outrage the nation aren't even really registering on the scared shytless scale anymore because worse has happened, this is just on the laugh at how dumb he is scale. i'm really bothered because i thought he AT LEAST understood what health insurance was. and he's suppose to help make decisions that affect all our lives? and the republicans in congress kiss his ass and tell him he knows more about health insurance that anyone. you all can have this country, i'm out ASAP.

This is beyond sad, I'm at a complete loss for words. It's amazing how powerful racism is because not all of his supporters are slack jawed yokels, some are fully functioning adults with real jobs but Trump is going to get rid of all the brown people so it's all good. When the dust settles and trump is no longer president we'll look back and say we watched the suicide of the American empire in real time.
