All this "I don't have to answer that" nonsense is only going to extend the length of time spent with the officer. Answer the questions, get the ticket or whatever and be on your way.

If you're looking for a fight, have it in a courtroom.
Wait, did you even watch the video? Your response implies that you did not even take the minute it took to watch the video. Nowhere in that video did he state you give a response of, "I do not have to answer that".

Depending on how you answer the questions there's nothing to fight in the courtroom, that was the point of the video :why:
You're just being contrarian for no reason.

see tip 3 again. His advice is to not answer the question by saying "I'm just trying to go home" .

1. Do you know how fast you were going?
- no, I don't.
2. Can we search your car?
- yes
3. Where are you coming from?
- I'll tell them wherever I'm coming from
4. Do you know why I pulled you over?
- no, I don't.
Ok, I see you for what you are. You can't be Black saying yes to number 2. That opens the door to you setting there while they rummage through your vehicle for something that does not exist. In some places, they will plant something on you if they can't find anything. So when you are in court over it, and you gave them permission to search, you have handcuffed your own lawyer against a push for illegal search and seizure.

Do you not know many people have had their cash taken from them by the police, just because the police found it in their search of the vehicle that the driver gave them permission to do?

That is not the same as saying, "I do not have to answer that". So you are proving that you will twist what he said to support your position.

I'm not twisting what he said, "I'm just trying to go home" is not an answer to the question "where are you coming from".

If the cop intends to plant drugs on you, they can easily say "I smell marijuana" which is probable cause for a search. From there they can plant the drugs.

but hey, I'll leave to yall to hold court on the shoulders of highways with white people.

  • Stop the car in a safe place as quickly as possible. Turn off the engine, turn on the internal light, open the window part way, and place your hands on the wheel.
  • Upon request, show the police your driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance.
  • If an officer asks to look inside your car, you can refuse. But if police believe your car contains evidence of a crime, they can search it without your consent.
  • Both drivers and passengers have the right to remain silent. If you're a passenger, you can ask if you're free to leave.
  • If you are stopped for suspicion of driving under the influence, you may refuse a sobriety test, which may result in later consequences such as fines and fees. However if you do refuse a sobriety test, the police officer must read an "Implied Consent Warning" that outlines possible consequences of refusing to submit to a test.
  • You do not have to answer questions about your immigration status

It is all the answer the police officer needs. You giving the police an itinerary on where you been, also opens the door on you being a possible suspect if some crime happened in the area you admitted to coming from.
