If the police say they smell marijuana coming from your vehicle, you’re in a tough situation. Courts have ruled that the odor of contraband gives officers probable cause to perform a search. All you can really do is say, “Officer, I have nothing to hide, but I don’t consent to any searches.” If they search you anyway and something is found, you’ll need an attorney to help you fight the charges. Unfortunately, police sometimes use tricks like this to circumvent your constitutional rights and there’s no perfect way to handle the situation. If the cop intends to plant drugs on you, they can easily say "I smell marijuana" which is probable cause for a search. From there they can plant the drugs.

Nowhere in that video was it implied or stated to hold court on the highways. He as a lawyer pointed out how to avoid getting caught by 4 particular trick questions. There was no talk about resisting anything, not answering any questions. So, you have proven again that you will twist what was actually stated to support your position.

Seriously, following your advice would get a lot of Black men who are just minding our business caught up in problems while also stripping away our legal protection to even seek recourse after the fact. It is evident that you have never experienced a police officer trumping up charges on you.

My Uncle's wife was a Baltimore ADA though, and she clued me in on how to protect myself through the different attempts to trip me up. Hell, just my dark-skin and face seemed to be enough for them to attempt the, "You fit the description" moves. Other times, I have been pulled over because my vehicle seemed to be too nice for my complexion. Also, had them try to pin a previous crime on me, by stating I ate and dashed at a restaurant two days prior, when the last time I was at that restaurant was 6 months prior.

I was with you until this, you can stop them from prying and have the stop be short. You'll just have to take the ticket.

You can comply without falling for those trick questions. Example, when I was pulled over for speeding and asked if I knew how fast I was going, I responded that my speedometer showed that I was going the speed limit.

If a cop wants to escalate a situation and shoot you at a traffic stop then they will even if you say yes to everything like he's saying. There's no reason to self incriminate yourself and none of these answers prolong the stop except maybe not consenting to a search because they'll find other shyt to try to pin on you.
