One of my favorite version of Jay Z is the type of shyt he say on cuts like "Gangsta shyt" where he was like "You so soft. No mask, no rope, one clip and I, let this nikka run around untied"

Just picturing somebody breaking in somebody crib and holding them hostage, but letting them pace around the room is wild
"knock at the door, 3 in the morning, 'It's just us and the guns :manny: :pachaha:"

Him and Prodigy were the GOAT at ways to say "i'll kill you"

I'll put your crew in hard bottoms :birdman:

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
im glad im not the only person who noticed that Jay said "******" in his early songs.thats one of the reasons i dont bump his old shyt.he sounds like a half ass racist black rapper.

fukk, it wasn't just me who heard it

yeah, when he retired in 03 just to come back quietly on remixes in 04 on his Get By Remix, he dropped the n word with the hard ER, like he switched up his vocals and had to re-figure out how to talk black again

that line isn't just wack, it's horrendously wack.

Why did I just have to catch a flashback to my homegirl playing the radio and us hearing "young money, we in this bytch/wish a nikka would (wood) like a tree in this bytch?"

:pacspit:
The thing is i feel like wayne is trying to get that reaction with his stuff as that line is absurd but at the same time catches your attention right away with the absurdity.

Wheras jay actually thinks hes saying something dope with his

I am comfortable and I love you
“To try and to fail, the two things I hate/
Success and this rap game, the two things that’s great”

shyt like that is why I was never impressed with the “HE DOESN’T WRITE RHYMES” thing. Maybe if he would he would’ve looked at shyt like that and said

I think it's actually unleash the flutes. Which is kind of funnier. Preparing the listener for some wild massive flute display that simply doesn't occur.

I don't understand the thought process with the whole song.

1. Let's get at Nas with a non-existent flute barrage
2. Let's get at Nas by conceding defeat
3. Let's get at Nas by impersonating Mike Myers impersonating a 1960s era British spy

whole song is kind of :what:
2nd verse of this song better than every verse on Ether :sas2:
"Guess who's back in the motherfukking house, half-black half-white chick I call her Minnie Mouse"

:comeon::scusthov::merchant:
Aight this was :russ:
He got some turrible ones on Suit and Tie
"You just got good genes so a nikka trynna cuff you"

But this is the one that really takes the cake:
"Tell your father we go farther as a couple. They ain't lose a daughter, they got a son.I show you how to do this, huh, uhh"

I just imagine him saying that to a father in law with his arm around him and hitting him with the
jay2s.gif
while the dad is like :beli:
Ayooooo :russ:
"Ya boy's off the wall, these other niccas is Tito"

Then it really got wack when he has to explain it during the song

"Ay baby, I said I'm, I'm Off The Wall, I'm like a... young Michael Jackson, these other niccas is Tito.... Shout out to Randy, Real Talk!"

:rudy:

And let's not forget this mathematical gem...

"Motherfukkers wanna wet me still, I remain y'all
Raw, the one, like five divided by four
shyt, this just the hate that's been provided by y'all
Reciprocated and multiplied by more"

Niccas really thought that shyt was hot
The way he spit that 2nd one made it sound hot and that was prolly one of his best songs overall tho. Possibly the best song on a classic album :ehh:

But even I was :gucci: at that 5 divided by 4 line and Hov was my favorite rapper next to Nas X and AZ at the time.

I didn’t even think bout that next part till I just read it. He basically saying all the people hating on him, he gone reciprocate it and hate on them several times worse. I doubt that’s what he really wanted to say but using a couple big words made it sound :banderas:

Till you actually realize what he saying :russ:

Give my ladies dikk, my young hoes pee-pee :dame:
Hits in a row like MJ ("Hee-hee!"):why:

who in the recording session thought this was a good line to put on a song?
:russ:
