Running a label or selling crack = being a businessman.

Rapping, making hits and being a celebrity (that has to hire an agent/manager to handle business things) = being a business

So basically he defends his ability as businessman by saying "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business"...which is exactly what his critics were saying.

Most garbage Jay lines were in the latter part of his career when he started getting corny and running out of shyt to say. Reasonable Doubt Jay was just awesome. It was one of the finest examples of an elite rapper in his prime on top of his game ever.
