No, I live in Atlanta. Never been to Detroit before.
In what ways are you radical? If you work in corporate America 5 days a week, and I'm assuming have never been written up or fired, I can't imagine you being that radical. And I'm not even trying to diss by saying that either. I work in corporate America and believe in repatriation. But I don't consider myself even remotely radical. My definition of radical may be different.
We need both sides of the struggle... the groups and politics and even the tapdancers.... .... and also small groups and radicals.
Since you're not part of any organizations, and you can't show your radical side because you don't want it to negatively affect your associates, what exactly are you doing to help the cause? This is based on the assumption that you believe something needs to be done about the condition of Africans in the US.
Also if you don't mind, what belief system do you hold that you feel makes you radical?
I have a few friends that are into politics. In politics people get into your life and background and associates. Most people don't take me as radical.. but my closest people know the deal because a couple of them used to be the same way.... So it's an unspoken agreement that I stay doing me and they do them.
I work in corporate America because that's were the money is... and revolutions aren't free... even if someone just wants to make an individual contribution to the cause.. they can't do shyt if they are struggling to feed their family. I quit 3 corporate jobs before I realized that the radical side of me will not allow me to do that rat race shyt that essentially will have me running in circles until I woke up at age 80 and haven't done shyt significant.
So I quit and even dissed a huge salary jump in another job - to just work for me and do me. Found out I could make it without all that. I rent corporate office space in a building with huge organizations... but my shyt is still my shyt. That's irreverent though, because I know many corporate people who do madd shyt.... for us.
I don't like Atlanta because the culture doesn't vibe well with me..... lol... some people are too superficial, too gay, or too wack. And we have madd gay guys here in detroit, but at least most our out the closet. I can't respect gay people who stay in the closet.
Anyway, I can show my radical side in many ways.. someone pm'd me to make a thread, but I'm undecided because of the type of site we are on. And I still go to many groups events... I go to events they have and even groups like the NOI, I attend their thing on Sundays every once in a while. There are hardly any black groups I don't fukk w, unless I just haven't heard about it or something. I support anything black for the most part. I just don't wanna end up like X, and say 'chickens come home to roost' and end up betrayed by people who I 'thought' were down. We as a people (even the conscious amongst us) are brainwashed like crazy... deep inside of us is hate that more than likely will negatively affect other black and brown people. ............... And I just don't have time for that shyt.
Why does what I'm doing have to come up? Why are my credentials in questions? I will let you know the tip of the iceberg since ur not the first one to ask... But after I tell you... you need to ask all the rest of these pro black posters the same thing that I've been asked like 100 times.
1. supported children and villages in Africa -(through individual and collecting group donations). You would be suprised at what a lil money can do for a whole village in a fukked up part of 'afrika'.
2. when i was corporate...I (we) were responsible for maddd young black people getting great jobs - most paying more than what I was making - hooked them up through my connections. Even some chicken heads who honestly didn't deserve to be hooked up. I would do slick shyt to deny white people jobs and careers... I only boosted black people, not because I don't want others to eat - but because they have people looking out for them and we don't.
3. helped with madd groups. With their lil agendas, even if I felt they were nearsighted and not radical enough.
4. I (we) did start our own group when I was very young... we had people in madd states (lol, well like 4 states). even when i joined the military we gained and were strong.... had nurses, businessmen, military men, all sorts of people with different functions.... but then we had the radical side (that I won't get into) We had people ready to murk off officials (if it ever came to that). But we had to give that up for 2 reasons. 1)we were too young we all had our phones tapped, were started to get into real shyt that we just couldn't handle it - basically like some young punks. 2) we were gonna be basically adopted by an international group. I'm basically the one that fukked that up. first off me and the leader of the group bumped heads cuz he wanted to add shyt to the front site that I didn't wanna add - so I didn't add it, cuz I controlled the site... and I felt that he was getting too tied up with more 'naacp' type groups and I (we) wanted to link up with 'more like old BBP' type groups. Then I made the mistake of taking on more than I could handle.. and all the black people came here we had a meeting they wanted me to open up a branch of some other type of group --------- but I was just a young dude. I wasn't cut out like Fred Hampton. Plus we were getting tracked like crazy cuz we weren't careful. etc. So we droppped that shyt to work on building our individual families up.
5. Working on developing a free technology program for black youth.... so they will learn to network or code at young ages (before 15) and build on that for the future. Technology will be the future and present. The group that mass produces the most people in that industry will be better off. Plus the average salary is usually more. And for those of us who simply don't wanna work for CAC.... then technology makes it easy to freelance without selling drugs. Anyway, this will be my legacy - probably take me 10 years to do it.
6. Working with an organization to buy properties(land) that are in the middle of nowhere. Idk how this will come in handy, but it might....
7. When I'm old I wanna be a community college professor. I feel that I can have a good impact telling them about information-- like the insight that is in threads like this.
8.. so I'm going to need you to ask the other black posters what they do..... and then say what you do.
