The Source changed it to 5 two years later, XXL launched a few months later in '97. AllMusic also have him 5 Mics as did Rolling Stone.
I agree with everything you had to say, what impact did 2001 have? Like I said RD is consistently ranked among the best hip hop albums of All-Time, I've seen it on several top 15's the same can't be said for 2001.
you keep askin what impact 2001 had when it dropped what impact did Reasonable doubt have when it droppe?. NONE because nas and wu tang already created that sound and did it at a higher level than jays debut.
2001 had a huge impact on the landscape of hip-hop when it dropped in 1999 it was the return of dre and the catalyst of the rise of the aftermath era. which spawned a WC resurgence from 99-02 ridin the wave that 2001 created, xzibits breakthrough and most succesfull album "restless" which is nearly @ 2 million sold exec produced by dr dre, as well as snoop dog's 2000 release "Tha Last Meal" the return of snoop linkin back up with dr dre on his own album and going back to the WC sound after his 2 No Limit Releases. and with the momentum the dre reunion sparked the revival of "tha eastsidaz" who were FT'd on 2001.. they released their debut album "Snoop Dog Presents the eastsidaz" in 2000 and went platinum, also.. in 2001 dr dre, snoop dog, eminem and the eastsidaz Starred in the Movie "The Wash" also in 2001 snoop and the eastsidaz had roles in the movie "Baby Boy" the ripple effect these artist recieved from 2001 translated to there own buzz and mainstream appeal. we havnt even got to Eminem who went from a multi platinum rapper on his debut to a diamond selling artist with help from the exposure that "2001" gave him..
impact
its one of the most impactful releases of all time and set up the most popular era in hip-hop history
