You just want to argueAnd no action is succesful without talk, planning and agreement
Without agreeing what the action should be, calling for action is a meaningless statement, what actions are you calling for?

I think it has something to do with the constant media propping of these non-achievers on every "news" channel. It's promoting the ideal of non-achievers succeeding. Which also falls into the fallacy of the American dream. nikkas hitting the lotto, living out their dreams, and then going broke. What you don't see is the stories on the young black generation that is doing something positive...they are hit or miss. Or we prop up religious leaders who aren't qualified to run a church but somehow get a mic and speak for all of us. Even rappers...even rappers turn pastors. The real fallacy is that there is a "Black" community to begin with. We are not homogenous and if you go from North to South, the "Community" is radically different. So in the absence of any real leadership we are accepting of everything because there is no real community to be harmed.
Dudes wearing dresses. Whore worshiping. Materialism. They are all accepted in this "community"....
I get tired of talking about black people problems. People take whichever side lets them demonize whichever group they hate rather than addressing the whole problem. And at the end of the day its just talk talk talk. We need more action.
I fell off my NSBE grizzly when I started this new job, but me n wifey do outreach of all kinds a few times a year. 1 person can't save the world but shyt like tutoring/mentoring and just general volunteering goes a long way.Well then let's actually do something about it then. Join an organization fighting on the behalf of black folks. Take a leadership role or at the very least get involved in some sort of outreach.
I always hear people talk about what needs to be done but I never hear anyone talk about what they're actually doing.

You not lying bruhIf you were to ask a white person 50 years ago, why black people were struggling they'd give you the same answer as the OP. Now in 2014 some misguided nikkas wanna adopt the same line of thinking.
White supremacy is a mutha![]()
You not lying bruh
Watch the James Baldwin vs William Buckley debate about whether “The American Dream is at the Expense of the American Negro.” This is in the '60s at Cambridge University
You'll notice very similar arguments, reasoning, and blatant dismissal of how white supremacist ideologies and actions' contribute to the black person plight, that is used today
One argument by Buckley was that blacks were not participating in programs that geared to help them, all while ignoring the quality and effectiveness of such programs
Buckley proceeds to downplay James Baldwin's personal experience, which showed non-isolated and non-unique experiences for blacks in different states, education, and tax bracket
Buckley also compares the "hardwork ethics" of slaves and the Cambridge students
Interview with Dr. Carl Ellis (professor at Westminter Theological Seminary) where he discusses Dyson, West missing what he feels is the true cultural crisis (low achievers setting the tone in the Black community). And in his view, an outdated model.
the problem with that pov isnt that its wrong, it is certainly correct that black people have suffered under white supremacy, the problem is that its on argument based on morality
its an argument that basically demands that white people start behaving morally, imo that type of argument only goes so far
the main things that motivate humans is not morality, the two main things that motivate humans are violence and money, so if black people want to get the foot of our neck that (violence and money) is what we have to focus on
and also focusing on white morality is itself a low key form of white supremacy, because it presupposes that black people cannot rise without the acquiescence of the white man
Once you change your philosophy, you change your thought pattern.
Once you change your thought pattern, you change your attitude.
Once you change your attitude, it changes your behavior pattern and then you go on into some action
It started with black exploitation movies in the 70's. I talked to older people who flat out said when these movies came out in the 70's, along with drugs, it changed how we perceived ourselves and the streets became "black", as far as being cool. At that time it kind of made sense because there were lack of jobs, and the street people had material things, as well as created jobs because a lot gave back to the community by opening business's. The problem is as time went on, we still have that mindset even though more of us are going to school, and getting or creating jobs. That mindset is something we have to break because it doesn't have a helpful meaning anymore. Most hustlers now aren't doing shyt for the community, and they aren't even getting money to help their family, they're getting chump change because it never lasts. Ain't no real money in the game anymore for most people.I wouldn't call them leaders, but they do set the tone for blacks in America.
Reasons they become the voice of our race:
- In the 1960's black community activists declared a war on drugs. In the 1970s black members of Congress demanded and voted for tougher drug laws. This led to gansta rap and negative black American stereotypes being spread across the world in music, videos, and movies.
- Cable TV and social media led to reality shows and websites like World Star showing blacks at their worst. People are able to tweet the most inane comments and get mainstream media attention. Many Instagram "models" are strippers, escorts/prostitutes, and professional baby mamas and are encouraging young girls to do the same thing.
- In order to maintain membership, most black churches do not have a high standard of moral behavior, Non-achievers can easily set the tone in a particular congregation.
These people have always been around, now they just have a large platform. I personally don't associate with them or worry about their lives. They simply have values that are different from mine. I'm not going to change them and they aren't going to change me.
In general, I believe that moral reasoning, along with other intellectual arguments, is apart of the process of effectively relating your argument to others, thus sparking relevant action. Like Malcom X said about inspiring action in people:
The morality argument was partly the bases for the actions behind abolitionist like John Brown. Members of the women suffrage movement was very vocal against slavery, some say a precursor to a few abolitionist movements that were formed years later
I agree about human motivation. History proves how both motivations contributed directly to the "improvement" of blacks in America, but they were not isolated from intellectual and emotional reasoning at some point, before, after or in between the violence and/or money desire
In other words, you need all three in your strategy working complimentary to each other. The intellectual argument, which includes moral and emotional connections, in order to get black folks focused and to wake white folks up from the lullabies of the white supremacist religion
All this shyt is from the uncle ruckus school of thought
And educated black men who are disconnected from the community allowing white media to dictate their opinions of the black community
With the uncle ruckus school of thought everything associated with white is good and everything associated with black is bad. Some of these fools talks as if there are no low life white people, no lazy white people, no rachet white people, no violent white people.
Truth is white people would never allow you to judge they nation on the worst of them nor is there a media that will only finance their ignorance. Clear channel sony universal could very well put they money behind positive "achieving" artist. Viacom could very well find successful black women to do a reality show on, they choose to finance shows with strippers and groupies as the main characters.
White people go do what they do. The sad shyt is us blacks who can't recognize the racist social construct and becomes self conscious based on the negative of black people. They are literally suggesting that every single breathing black person has to be perfect to protect our images in a European Jewish controlled white media and that is just unrealistic. You get rid of 1 chief keef they will just finance another.
