you know exactly what he’s saying. Stop it. he referenced streamers not formalized tough interviews that are confrontational.

kendrick got interviewed by SZA in a Hollywood publication. stop it.

none of the big artists in hip hop do interviews with true hip hop media anymore. spec the legacy/ legends

Drake
kendrick
Cole
Eminem
Jay
ect

Their tired of being Chatty Pattied to death and having their words misconstrued and taken out of context just for a chance at a soundbite going viral.

If Nas sat down with Angie Martinez right now, i’d BET a rather large amount of money she’d ask him endlessly about that bullshyt with Jim Jones (whose not even worth talking about) she wouldn’t talk about the Hip Hop 50 concert Nas and Mass Appeal spearheaded, or the Paid In Full initiative, which gives veteran legacy rappers 500k plus free premium healthcare for life. She’d want to talk about bullshyt.

Kendrick sitting down with Joe Budden would be Joe & Co being as messy as they could, trying to get some bullshyt off regarding the battle when Kendrick’s literally said everything there is to say regarding Drake and his view of him in his raps. They wouldn’t even go about in an intelligent, thoughtful manner, it would just be ridiculous.

And don’t even get me STARTED on Elliot Wilson, dude is a straight clown with clear biases who couldn’t be objective to save his life.

The only halfway decent Hip Hop platforms nowadays are Bootleg Kev and Big Boy

I feel like Angie is usually pretty fair and doesnt railroad her guests, angie would be a decnet place to start for some of these guys

while I dont disagree with you a lot of its just narrative controlling and I dont think its helping Drake or Cole for example at all right now, they could both use decent interviews

Nas is past the point he doesnt need to do anything

eminem tho past the point also--- never did an objective hip hop interview in his life that I can remember? tell me if Im wrong. he would never sit with a breakfast club even ever

It’s the gaslighting of it all. Elliott Wilson really just wants to be as messy as possible and “hold drake accountable” or whatever that means.

People keep equating confrontation with “quality”

Narrative controlling, when it comes to superstars like Cole, Drake and Kendrick, is more important than any interview. Cole staying silent and addressing whatever’s he’s got to address in his MUSIC is what helps him. Same thing for Kendrick and even Drake. Drake sitting down with ANYBODY right now in Hip Hop media wouldn’t do him any good. The entire interview would center around the battle and him getting his ass handed to him, there’s literally nothing he could do or say to spin it, so i’m not mad if he wants to sit down and talk to this air-headed white woman on a platform he controls. Is it corny? Absolutely. Is it going to change anyone’s mind about him if you don’t already rock with him. Nope. But at the end of the day its better (for him) than to have to answer to anyone else. Hell this is probably the best damage control he could possibly do. I don’t fukk with it but again, I don’t fukk with Drake, so it is what it is.
