The thing is Drake was always a pop artist/entertainer....He was just disguising it by making rap music. I honestly believe Drake thought he was never going to get exposed for having helpers along in the way in his music career. Say what you want about Meek Mill, but I still say he did the right thing even though it cost him his reputation in the end. We were all pretty much fooled and bought into the charade. Thats why I have to rank Kendrick, Cole, Wale and Krit ahead of Drake at this point. Yeah he sells more records than all of them, has more endorsements and is more popular, but behind closed doors I bet he doesn't have respect amongst his peers who put their hearts & their souls into this shyt.
Drake's impact from this will be felt in the long run.....He's opening up pandora's box with how he's playing the game using the pop approach of using songwriters to give him hits, songs, lyrics, etc. Expect more rappers to be using those tactics in the near future. Were not gonna know who's actually writing real rhymes. He's stunting his artists growth making sacrifices to cater to him on that dead ass label OVO. You got one of the most popular music acts in the game as your figurehead and nikkas can't even sale more than 13k copies? Thats something I'm not seeing being talked about more. PND having Drake next to his side, should be bigger than Bryson Tiller and atleast near the same level of fame the Weeknd is at.
nikka been trying to blow up for the last tree years lol smh
