i can't take any of these radio stations seriously, they play Drake's records nonstop. you could tune in right now and i bet in 5 minutes tops you'll hear Drake's One Dance or Controlla record on the rotation each hour. i understand it's these program directors calling the shots but these radio personalities have to start laying their foot down on what kind of crap is currently being pushed.
Why the fukk would they do that? Tell the station to stop playing two of the hottest songs in the world that people wanna hear?

cause that shyt isn't hip hop, they need to keep Drake's music on KTU or Z100 cause that's where it belongs, on pop radio.

Why wouldn't he be mad at Funk Flex?

There has been two instances involving Flex that put major dents in Drake's credibility as an MC. First the Blackberry freestyle and then the reference tracks.
How is Flex responsible for denting his credibility with the BlackBerry? Did he force him to read his "freestyle" off a phone?

I remember that shyt, rapping off a cell phone..... :mjlol: 6 Fraud.... nikka should have been kicked out the booth!!!!

So Joell should've been kicked out the room because he was reading off a blueberry?

How about Scarface? Is he a fraud as well?

Or are we cherry picking along with your flawed logic.

I think Drake was suppose to be freestyling. Reading off a phone isn't freestlying. Were the people above suppose to be freestlying?

Hot 97 is relevant ...radio itself isn't ...but the brand is still seen as important in hip hop..for whatever reason

Hence why they can get a football stadium to throw a shytty concert every year
They rent out the Stadium, promote it for weeks, charge for tickets, and the artists play for free in exchange for promo/spins/favors

Or what? All the radio personalities are replaceable. The only ones that draw ratings for being themselves are the ones who don't even play music

Hot 97 is -I think for many others too- the first time I ever heard of Drake. I remember clearly thinking 'Drake. Like... Nathan Drake.. like.. Uncharted? What kind of name is this?'

Then I saw this dude with a Blackberry and I was like 'Flex must've been paid hella money because he's acting like this dude is the next Jay lol' this was when everybody knew Payola was real so this made sense in my mind.

hmm.

Yes, this.
