What other hip hop radio station on the planet would get this type of coverage? (No, Power 106 in LA and Power 105 in NY would not)

I'd have to agree with the man on this one....

they played them on the radio here.

supreme clientele was a solo project years later. and I wouldn't quite refer to it as a popular album.
Supreme came out in 2000. Wu shyt on hot 97 at summer jam 97 and didnt get play for ten years

People were talking about that for years and deck basically confirmed it on vlad

There quite a few wu centric singles during that time.

Not getting play in ya home city helped the fall off. I remember hearing songs on philly radio while hot 97 barely played any. They play chez chez la ghost more now than they did then lol i catch that shyt on hot 97 every once n a while

I dont think this will happen to drake but itsbinteresting how its turning out

Valid point..

Although lately they are only relevant for "beefing" with artists..

It's almost at the point of the tale wagging the dog...

but yall are always talking about how wutang is GLOBAL. so surely not getting played on a radio station that covers just 1 1/2 states that are located in the bootleg capital, isn't gonna put much of a dent in their armor, right?

and youre quoting deck here, but why don't you quote deck admitting that wutang lost their "title" when they dropped wutang forever??

they had their time and it was up breh.

you keep mentioning supreme clientele, but like I said, it wasn't exactly setting the world on fire.

Cuz that wasnt the point of the jnterview?

Wu dropped a plethora of gold-platinum albums in that time breh what are you talking about. Supreme being one of them. Wasnt settin world on fire but cover of the source and had people talking. Ok breh

Why they play the joints now more then they did then?

Method man only one who got play

Stop acting like not havingvthe radio in the city you come from and sell the most tecords from dont matter. It helped nycers who are casual heads move on to other movements and put them on.

U trollin tho so fukk it

not having radio play in your city isn't a big deal, as long as youre getting airplay in other cities and national video play. beanie siegal was a lesser-promoted artist, and he was banned from power 99 when "the truth" dropped, and he still went gold without any hits and probably not a lot of radio play outside the city, and with no previous albums under his belt. meanwhile, youre in here whining about wutang who were all over TV, had video games, were in movies & all types of stuff. they just didn't have THAT CHIT any more. deck said it himself in another interview. simple as that. rappers didn't have long shelf lives back then. it was still too organic. it is what it is. all my favorite artists from back then, suffered the same fate(except pac, but he would've been washed by then too, if he lived). deal wit it.

lol. @ the bolded. I dont know what they play on new York radio and dont care. neither does 99% of the rest of the world outside of new York/north jersey. what part of that dont you understand?

I said they fell off after wu-forever. I didn't say that they disappeared. so of course, an established big-named crew not far-removed from their prime is still gonna have acquire some gold & platinum plaques in the midst of the sales-boom. youre not slick breh. and LOL @ a magazine cover.

I'm sure you know what I meant by setting the world on fire. the crews doing such at the time were cash money, ruff ryder, no limit, rocafella. wutang was nowhere near that equation and you know it. they were on the back-end of their run just like all the other acts that peaked in '94-97, who were fortunate enough to still be around.
