Financial success?

Why is hip hop the only part of arts and entertainment that uses this criteria..

So glad I don't have to go to other forums and see "The Godfather part 2 was okay, but it's box office ain't seeing Despicable Me 2's numbers"

or

Ok...TRUST ME, people look at the top grossing movies of all times. Just like they look at TV shows that bring in the most money. And back to music, the reason why you know about certain groups is because like it or not they've have SOLD the most albums. Album sales = popularity = success and a criteria for other to emulate that style.

I would be interested to see what other's opinions are on this...I'll start though and provide a more comprehensive answers.

1.) Lyrics - 40% (Content, Metaphors, Wordplay)
2.) Flow - 20% (Delivery, rhyme schemes, vocal inflection)
3.) Impact - 15% (Do people emulate that style, does mainstream media follow it more)
4.) Stage Show - 15% (so sad to see that this is becoming lost in the art of hip hop)
4.) Sales - 10% (this often leads to what radio plays, what major AND indie labels will sign because in the end, it's a business)

Sorry, but financial success never factors into my top anything. Financial success has a lot more to do with other factors than the quality of the music. Drake is a top (as in popular) artist (IMO, dude is nothing special as a rapper, he's cool but not wow status....but he does present an entire package) but I'd have more than two dudes in front of him (from the newer generation, not even counting old heads) as top rappers
