I think this is one of his weaker projects, but it's not trash, at least not in comparison to all his other albums. It's in the same style. Better than Nothing Was the Same, tbh.
As far as Drake projects post-Comeback Season:
So Far Gone
If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Take Care
Views
Nothing Was the Same
Thank Me Later
This is where I'm at with the album also, thinking of the tracks I've put in a playlist:
Views
Hype
Pop Style
Still Here
Controlla
One Dance
With You
Weston Road Flows
9
Child's Play
U With Me
Redemption
Fire & Desire
Bonus Track - Feel No Ways
So that's 4 Rap Tracks, 3 Pop Tracks, 4 "Drake" Tracks (Rap/RnB Hybrids), 2 RnB Tracks, 1 Random Track. So, it's basically the Drake formula for an album.
Both sides of the argument for this album are actually making valid points. Hip-Hoppers who hate it are correct to dislike it, it's not a pure hip-hop album and has a high percentage of RnB/singing on it. Drake fans are correct in saying it's good and enjoyable, it falls inline with the formula he's established and will probably generate his biggest pop hits.
