Drake's first week sales are misleading (Prior Streams For Hotline Bling were counted)

If they did this with....Wayne for example, around his "C3" run....he'd be doing "Thriller" numbers. It's retarded.

on one hand, the playing field is even as all artists abide by these new rules.
on the other hand though, when you compare the sales numbers of today vs yesteryear they should better reflect the actual market and I don't know if 1,500 streams should = a sold album. It's misleading. You could love a single and not particularly the rest of the artist's catalog, among other things I see wrong with the new system.
No people are saying he might do 2 million because of hotline bling and one dance. But who knows how many of those stream are from the US.
Not to mention streams can easily be manipulated. And I'm not one of those crazy "Baby was buying 200,000 copies of 'C3' to prop Wayne up" conspiracy theory guys, but Youtube already busted people for falsifying views:

So imagine what they can do with streams.

doesn't matter..album is only available on Apple and he's their golden boy so they're gonna spike his numbers when they submit it to the RIAA...no way this album, which wasn't hyped up nearly as much as his previous albums and had lackluster singles, be his highest selling one...Iovine gonna make him look better than he is...
That's the only thing I don't like about this new way to count sales. You can get a platinum single and those streams also contribute to a platinum album, it doesn't make sense as like some above said people could be avoiding 90% of the album.
Monetarily it should all match up but previously you could sell a million singles plus a million albums and get paid twice. Now it's all the same cheque so they're earning less money than they previously would of for the same achievement.
