I dont get this streams shyt. For example, those streams for hotline bling were already "used" to say so for the singles chart. To count it again, is stupid.

I get that streaming should be included in charts, but this way its retarded. Also don't understand why streams from 9 months prior count into the 1st week. Thats even more retarded

If they wanna do it fair, they should change the charts into a box office system. So that you can see how much money the album gained, instead of the sales plus streaming bullshyt

Drake is the biggest rap artist of this generation. Eminem was bigger than 50 and Nelly at the time they came out. Nelly was extremely popular but he didn't completely dominate the rap game with the amount of hits Drake has. If this was 2000, and Drake had the popularity he has now, he'd easily go diamond.

There are two things that should be pointed out....

This is a different era so you can't directly compare 50 Cent, Eminem, Nelly, or any of those big sellers from then to now. Eminem would have done 20 million on streams in his hay day. The other part is that people are so feverish and quick to buy albums these days that there is very little long term sales. 90% of the people who want the Drake album already got it or have already streamed it. Many will move onto something else.

Hotline Bling would have been added even if this whole streaming/padding the stats stuff didn't exist. It's pretty standard to put a single that big on whatever album comes out next even if the song already ran its course before May is over.

We are arguing if he really sold 600 or 800k? lol. It really doesn't matter, hes going platinum.
