Where are you getting that 733k number from? YouTube streams are not counted, it's on-demand streaming services.

you can cop an album while dropping a deuce now
it's different

going platinum on all physical copies is real superstar shyt
that other shyt is just for marketing purposes

*
So due to technology, we can't have superstars today? I'm still shocked at how hard it is for old people to understand that sales = consumption = billboards. Cats consume music in different ways, should billboard just choose one of those way? Eventhough both generate the exact same bread. How the hell is it marketing purposes to make 18 bucks per equivalent sale from Tidal? I.e. More than a physical sale or in general the exact same amount, there of the word equivalent.

The only problem I see with this new thing is that singles are counted, individual songs should be counted but not official singles. That'll reflect how commercially successful the album is.

I agree with this that's why people not really feeling this new format cause of the weight singles carry

There should be 2 separate criterias.

A : for amount actually sold and bought whether it's a physical copy or digital download of the entire album.

B : And one for streams.

Tying these 2 together is bullshyt.

Wayne did a mill first week 2008 off sales alone. I doubt we will see another rapper(non white) beat this anytime soon.

In two previous threads about these wack streaming rules you had nikkas calling people "dinosaurs" because they felt "streaming" platinum diminishes the achievement of earning that plaque. nikkas was saying, "it's the new rules. This is how music is consumed now. You :flabbynsick: nikkas :umad:"

But now that Drake might be benefiting from the shytty system it's no longer credible. :mjlol:

Single sales never went towards album sales prior to this though.

If they did this with....Wayne for example, around his "C3" run....he'd be doing "Thriller" numbers. It's retarded.

Fred.

:upsetfavre: this is not the first time single sales are being counted towards album sales. They didn't make up this new rule for Drake, is all I'm saying. And Waynes C3 run was years ago and the climate has changed since then not sure why you are making that comparison at all. Billboard/RIAA all announced when this change was made.

You the breh in the film room, but you on some other shyt in here when it comes to Drake. shyt is weird. :heh:

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Not to mention streams can easily be manipulated. And I'm not one of those crazy "Baby was buying 200,000 copies of 'C3' to prop Wayne up" conspiracy theory guys, but Youtube already busted people for falsifying views:

YouTube cancels billions of music industry video views after finding they were fake or 'dead'

So imagine what they can do with streams.

Fred.

:ohhh:

wow crazy so beyonce won't be #1 :wow:

No. Some how they're not reported on the same week.

Bey will be number 1 on the next chart. Drake will be number 1 on chart that follows
